betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Til there's a non-Eklund link involved, it's a Rumor Mill. Will be moved back to GD upon confirmation.
johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Wow...being a tiebreaker away from the 8th playoff spot this move would come as a bit of a surprise. But realistically the Habs will only go as far as Huet takes them. If he doesn't come back that pretty much sinks them...imo.

Turretin 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 How does SJ have so much to give up over these past 2 years? Yikes.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Eklund is saying the same thing. Similar looking to the Forsberg deal, I am thinking. I'll give Eklund this: he seems to be usually right the day of. Any other time, he's throwing darts. If indeed it's SJ, here's my prediction as to the price: Matt Carle, prospect, and a 2nd. Bruce Campbell 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Eklund still thinks a deal may be imminent - and that the Red Wings have entered the fray... http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=5642
DaWingsin071 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 I also saw this on Eklund, quite interesting if you ask me, Souray would shore up the blue line for a strong playoff run. Where does that put us with the Guerin, Bertuzzi, etc. could we see one of two things happen, we nab Souray and trade for Guerin or Bertuzzi, maybe we get all three. Think of the possibilites, also isnt Schneider a UFA after this year maybe after the season is over we resign Souray and let Schneider walk. Things are getting interesting these last 7 days or so before the deadline, what are all your thoughts. -Nick
grsbmd 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 This one really doesn't make any sense to me. Montreal could very easily make the playoffs. Souray is one of the best young defensemen. With Huet out, it seems like they'd want him more than ever. I certainly wouldn't mind obtaining him, but we already have one of the strongest defenses in the league. The only way I could see this making remote sense for Montreal is if they receive more than one already-playing-in-the-NHL defensemen or perhaps Robert Lang and an NHL ready defenseman. They certainly don't have enough depth to give up a defenseman without getting one back.
DaWingsin071 4 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Lang+Lilja=Problem Solved, also remember Montreal really was pushing for Lang last year. And I know we always bring up trading Lang,Lilja etc. But this addition+Healthy Blue Line+Healthy Hasek=Sick. Just my thoughts
