TheLegend19 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Martin Brodeur with a 1-0 win tonight, has 92 career shutouts, which ties him with George Hainsworth for 2nd on the all-time shutouts list. He is now just 11 shutouts short of tying Terry Sawchuk's record of 103 career shutouts. It was his 12th shutout of the year, which ties his career-high. He'll definitely get it, barring any major injuries. He'll be 35 in May, but this is his 17 year in the league. He's signed through 2011-'12. He's a classy guy, and I've always liked him. (More than I liked Roy, atleast).

toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Glenn Hall played in 503 consecutive games. My count is at 502, but it doesn't really matter. Anything higher than 50 is probably untouchable.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Brodeur is AMAZING. In my eyes he'll always be the best goaltender in the NHL.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 the guy is no better than hasek or roy. but the lucky sonofabitch got to play on the most defensive team of this generation. He's also amazing durable, especially when you consider how many games he plays a season. That's not luck.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I think Brodeur's kinda a goof personally, but more power to him if/when he breaks this record. It's only being held by arguably one of the best goalies in the history of the game. He won't break this record by accident if he does. For those who say he is overrated, you have a head full of bricks.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 he's overrated No he isn't. Well, we know at least you are brick-headed.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) yeah you got me NJ hockey = brodeur's great sucess. he's playing in a goalies dream world. i don't know who wouldn't want to have a defense like that. never facing tough rebounds. rarely facing breakaways or odd man rushes. that'd be sweet. i don't buy the hype like a mindless sheep. sorry. guess i've a head full of bricks. i must've forgot the cardinal internet rule-don't go against the grain. really? New Jersey never gives up rebounds? or odd man rushes or breakaways? wow. Why has no one else caught onto this system? because if they don't give up any of those things, seems like winning the Stanley Cup would be a piece of cake. But you're right. The rest of the hockey world is wrong, Brodeur's isn't great. It's the system in Jersey. And you're the only one who's figured it all out. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) he's great. but he's overrated. but this is the internet, you're not allowed to say so. and for christs sake, lose the grudge. do i keep you up at night? cause it seems like it. are you replying to me? what grudge? I just get tired of people claiming Brodeur's success is solely because of New Jersey's system. Edited March 1, 2007 by haroldsnepsts
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 i have to admit he's good and i like him but by no means do i want him to break sawchuks record. cuz well Sawchucks # 1 and his # is retired by the wings. nuf said Brodeur's will undoubtedly be retired by the Devils as well Marty has 485 wins to date.... If he were to finish with only 6 more this season, he would need only 2 more 30 win seasons to tie Roy's 551.... and we all know that he will surpass those numbers.... I fully expect him to far surpass Patrick...
