Don't listen to these people. If it were up to them you would wait until you turned into rotten, moldy stinky French cheese before you play. I say we gave up alot to get you and you need to get on the ice ASAP and crush someone anyone besides Chelios. You might need to play with a little pain, but that's OK because you are a hockey player and you play to please us as fans. No games are meaningless. And I agree hockeycrazy3033, this is easily the most excited I have felt for a long time over a trade acquisition. I remember a few years back every time we played the Canucks Bertuzzi would destroy us. You look at some clips on YouTube and half of the highlights are against the Wings. I just can’t believe he’s with us now.

I'm sorry, but when Langerissimo opens himself for shots, I have to take them. It's unavoidable - just like a car crash.

And oh yes... why can't Bert be stuffed into some rejuvenation tank and emerge twenty-four hours later prim and ready? I want to see this guy on the ice. One half of me doesn't like my own excitement.. because really, the excitement over Bert is precisely because he's big and tough, whereas the rest of the Wings? Not. I embrace this regardless, however.

I agree, and am glad a lot of other people feel the same. Bert was never the enemy to me, but I feared his skills vs. the Wings. I worried about facing both Bertuzzi and JovoCop, at that time, anyway. Add in those onion-twins (who are scary but DO know how to play hockey) and Naslund, the Nucks presented a real threat. If they'd had a goalie in 2002, it could have gotten ugly.

But now Bert's ours, and I am pleased, for us and for him. I have no doubt Bert will do everything in his power to help the Wings succeed.
