Those that haven't heard already, yesterday Hull picked the Flames to win the series stating that the Wings really don't have a chance. As did Don Cherry.

The best part of Hull's "prediction" is that he's probably basing it on the 04 series. And he was by far the laziest, least caring, "I can't wait to get on the golf course" Wings that series.

To the rest, you know Don has to pick Calgary. They are part of his core market and they play his style of game. Hard hitting, dump and chase, with the odd fight. Detroit is all talent and just recently a bit of grit.

I am sure that when Detroit wins Cherry will call them to win the cup. He respects teams that can beat his style of game. It will be cool to see Cherry talking huge of Zets/Dats/others an claiming that there are some Europeans who can excel even against the hard hitting NA style game. Make him eat his words, he has been wrong in the past and when he is, he admits it.

screw them both. don cherry is just a dope perpetuating the canadians play hard and europeans don't stereptype. hull's just hull. honest but not always accurate.

Gonna put a little Celtic beat-down on old Grapes, there, GCW? I've been to Scotland and it is not for the timid! Beautiful country, however, I look forward to another chance to visit.

I think Don's come down off that soft Euro rant a bit in recent years, has he not? I know he's still all for Canada, uber alis, but that's OK. When our European captain and European #1 goalie win it all again, he will have to admit that Euro's rule, yes?

Dom was the first European born and trained #1 goalie to win a Cup, I believe. Khabibulin, as usual, followed in Dom's footsteps. Nick Lidstrom is the first and only non-North American to win the Conn Smythe. I say we add to their trophy cases again this season!

Yeah, I agree. I just would like to see some loyalty from him or something. I mean he did win a cup with us. Maybe not even loyalty, but at least stop bagging on us all the time.

I mean I could totally see Hull picking the flames and all. But im shocked that he said "we have no chance". To say something like that is pretty bold. I've liked Hull ever since he was a Red Wing, but I definitely disagree with his statement. Sure the series could go either way, but neither teams are in the catagorie of having "no chance". I still like Hull and everything. Im just a little suprised.

I got it! He said Datsyuk had no chance to sign back to light a fire under him motivating him to sign. He did the same thing with NY. He knows we've had troubles with Calgary, so he's trying to light a fire under our ass........

probably not, but it's the only way in my mind to like Hull anymore.
