Nucks V. Ducks GAME 4 (05/01)

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Didn't see a GDT, hope nobody minds if I start one.

Just saw the National Anthems sung by both teams. The Canadian Anthem was nothing short of amazing, as the singer (don't know his name), held the mic out for the the crowd to sing the entire second verse, which they sang loud and clear.

I know most fans from both our teams were rooting for the Nucks over the Stars, and that most fans are also hoping that the Ducks and Nucks take a LOT out of each other in a hard grinding exhausting series that leaves the victor tired and beat up going into Round 3, but is there anyone here rooting for Anaheim in this series?

Personally, I'm hoping for the Nucks to even it up, and for a number of reasons, one of which was stated above.

GAME ON!

EDIT: Sorry about the "Duck" not "Ducks" title, can't edit that unfortunately.

A lot of singers in Canada hold out the microphone and let the fans sing the Canadian National Anthem. It is pretty neat I will say.

I want the Canucks to win this game. Why? Chris Pronger is lazy and he sucks, and that cannot be tolerated! :P

In reality, I'd like this to be a long, close series. Anything that can get Anaheim worn down/and or Pronger getting hurt again is all the better reason.

You know if an anthem singer in the US tried to do that it would just come out muffled as at least half the crowd would butcher the words!

Personally, I was rooting for the Stars over the Canucks in the first round. Dallas is no cakewalk, but I think the Sharks/Ducks would have beat each other up more than the Ducks/Canucks.....but perhaps that still remains to be seen.....

Also, it is my impression that the majority of people here are going for the Ducks....

GO CANUCKS....and as I type this they score :siren:

Anaheim players are FRUSTRATED! I smell some ugliness coming up very soon.

The majority here are rooting for the Ducks?! Is that true?

Not me! I detest the Ducks! The main reason for my hatred is because of Chris Pronger. I have never liked the guy.

Go Canucks! Run up the score on those quackers!

I'm rooting for the Ducks in this one. I absolutely hate the Canucks. Undoubtedly they're basically where they are due to Luongo. The Sedin twins have some strange man love going on for each other and Burrows is a cheap shot artist who hides behind Cowan and other bigger guys when confronted (see the Brendan Morrow incident). Also, Scott Niedermeyer is one of my favorite players and I think it's about time Teemu won a Cup.

The Nucks are playing fantastically, but taking penalties. BIG mistake with the Ducks. The Nucks PK is on fire right now. A five minute for an accidental high stick that made Selanne bleed, but that 5 on 3 was killed, and now too many men on the ice against Anaheim, which nullified much of their PP against the Nucks.

What a great game so far! Certainly not the yawner wake-me-when-it's-over series between the Stars and the Nucks.

EDIT: The fact that Niedermeyer and/or Pronger were on all but two shifts in the first period does not bode well for the Ducks, I think. Those are going to be two exhausted forwards by the end of the second.

And just as I typed that Niedermeyer took a tripping penalty against Henrik Sedin. Wow, the penalties are flying back and forth in this game!

i just really like saying "ducks and nucks and nucks and ducks and ducks and nucks and nucks and ducks and nucks and ducks and nucks and ducks". it just feels good.

i'll be the first to say, "overtime?". as soon as you say OT, the LGW-LNC will begin to assemble.

SCORE! 2-0 Nucks!

Go Nucks Go

Not sure if I would rather see Detroit play Anaheim (Size) or Vancouver (Canadien Ice) in the next series, although I'm wondering where the Canucks have been thus far in the series until tonight....sheesh!

Go Wings!

This game is not what I expected. All the Nucks are a factor, and Luongo's a thief and a half, but here's the strange thing. Stellar penalty kill on the Nucks' part means that Pronger and Niedermeyer are being worked harder than normal, which also means that the Sedin twins are COMPLETELY RESTED!

That aspect of it means that third period does NOT look good for the Ducks.

I have to admit, I have underrated the Canucks. They are a pretty good team. It's more than just Luongo too, they have a lot of hard workers that seem to play a full sixty minutes. On top of that, they block a lot of shots! Perhaps the Wings should take some notes :P

I'd just rather see us play Anaheim (if we make it that far) just so we don't have to sit through a whole series of boring, trap-style hockey. I think the Canucks may have even surpassed the Devils in terms of most boring team to watch.
