superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Woo! I know a lot of people here strongly condemn this move but I sure as hell do not. I love Malts, for the money we have him for and for what he brings to the table, I am pleased. It is awesome that he will retire where he should, in Detroit. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 *Insert overembelished Holland is a moosefart GM for re-signing Maltby post here* Now that we got that out of the way, I'm a bit surprised at this, but not disappointed. It wouldn't have killed me if Maltby and the Red Wings parted ways, but it's not like he's going to be expensive or command a lot of money, given his role and getting up there in age. And you can never underestimate the value of hard/grinding work whether you have just 5 goals during a season or 50.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 Personally I like the signing. Maltby makes almost next to nothing (by NHL standards anyways), and he'll always be one of my favorite Red Wings. Good deal in my book.
