Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Avery and Shanny are RFA/UFA , Im not sure if they can re-sign both god i hope they can...they work well togehter, nice seeing two ex wings on my 2nd fav team, and i think they have alot of potential next year....if they want to make moves, thats ok, but you gotta keep jagr, shanny, avery, nylander, straka, mara and lunqvist even if they are ufa or rfa, you think its a cap issue? i dont think shanny will want to shop for ANOTHER new team this late in his career just for a couple more dollars.... i think ny has embraces avery and he may never find that anywhere but there and here in detroit...everyone else hates him. oh well, at least they didnt lose to NJ, that woulda sucked. Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 (edited) No way is Shanny retiring the guy's still got alot of Ice Hockey to play. They'll both be back with the Rangers next season. from your lips to gods ears! hey wicked to see people from overseas in the mix....WHATS UP SCOTLAND! i got your reference earlier to rooting for a team named the rangers lol, soccer hey? also shanny has been known to take less to stay on a team he likes...he did it with the wings. the rangers are the eastern reflection of our team imho...they may do it to stay together rangers 2 years in the PO in a row, and this year, no 1st round sweep, and really could have won this series with a few breaks, and a few less bonhead calls against them. Better luck next year boys. Edited May 7, 2007 by Wingsor

SweWings 45 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 No Cinderella story in these play-offs. Tho with all the injuries the Wings are having it's beginning to look like one. In any case, good job Rangers I bet we'll see you back in the playoffs next year.

adtthosa 5 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 That was a great series. I would have liked to see a game 7, but it's all good. For the first time in awhile, the final five teams are actually the 5 best teams in the league, IMO.

I agree, hopefully this mean's the SCF's will be really exciting instead of what we've had the past couple of season's.
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I agree, hopefully this mean's the SCF's will be really exciting instead of what we've had the past couple of season's. Totally agreed also. I'm tired of the one run wonders making it to the finals. A bit selfish on my part, but I haven't been too interested in the last two finals series. Even if the Wings aren't there - I'd watch a team like the Sabres (although I was kind of rooting for NYR too). Here's to no Southern teams in the mix this year! Henrik The Great 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I guess its going to be red wings vs sabers too bad That's actually the match-up that I've been rooting for all year long. I would absolutley love a Red Wings/Sabers match-up.

Wingsor 2 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 reg season Ottawa beat the sabres, i know reg season doesnt count blah blah, just saying oh wicked, didnt know that. i think ottawa looks tougher than buffalo a little bit. mind you i dont think buffalo looks weak cause they almost lost to NYR, NY was on a mission but just came that close. its going to be an amazing eastern conference final let me tell you! lets just hope the wings can win tomorrow night convincingly, would make us all a bit more comfortable facing anaheim next round, and show us the schneider loss wont haunt us (which it didnt since all 4 goals were without him last game) maybe we should just dress 5 D....ok maybe not! lol I don't dislike any ot the teams left except anaheim.... if we beat SJ, i cant wait for TSN to go blabbing on about pronger all day long instead of Joe this Joe that....oh well, if we win the cup, they can shut their mouths all they want, but we'll have a wicked parade come JUNE, and we'll be loud enough to make up for their lack of support for the wings. WOODWARD IS GETTING CLOSER! LETS GO RED WINGS!
Viperar 16 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Some more things to note: 1. This years big brawl was between these two teams. 2. The sheer firepower vs firepower of the star players (Briere, Afinogenov, Drury etc..) vs (Alfredsson, Spezza, Heatley etc...) 3. The sabres weak point in my mind is to play aggresive. They have many finesse players, but if you ever noticed during periods of the Rangers finishing their checks, it threw the sabres off their game. Play aggresive you can beat the sabres. As far as miller goes..crash the net! 4. Emery seems to be the weak point on Ottawa, while the defense might be at fault, emery seems to let in some softies on occasion. Also, OTT seems to struggle holding a lead, and when theyre up 3-1, or 4-0...the games tend to always be close. Just some things i noted on watching both these teams. Holding the lead i think was Ottawa not beleving in themselves, they always end up blowing it early in the playoffs after great starts...i think now that they're in the conference finals, theyll be more veteranlike with their play late in games. i forgot about those brawls, OMG this is gonna be insane! Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I'm glad that the Sabres advanced, next to the Wings the Sabres are my favorite team and if the Wings don't win the cup then I want the Sabers to win it. Woo-hoo! The only reason that I'm disappointed is, because of the Tigers game today I only got to watch the first five minuets of the game
vladyfan 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 It gives me chills. This is why the NHL is the best league in the world. Amen! The Rangers are a classy organization. I was super impressed when they presented the 600th goal awards to Jagr and to Shanahan and they actually flew in Stevie and Mario! That was cool. I had never NEVER seen an organization bring in players from OTHER teams to do something like that. I emailed them and told them so, and someone in HR actually wrote me back. I really enjoyed the ride with the Rangers this year. They played out of their minds for the better part of the spring, and made it much farther than anyone hoped. Henrik was human today, and I think that was the difference. No regrets. I will certainly be watching next year. I can't imagine that they won't keep Shanny and Avery. evil204 4 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 The Sabres sure did get lucky with travel. They stayed in New York for the first 2 series, and now they have to go to Ontario, while the Wings will be going to the west coast for all 3 rounds (hopefully).
