Some of whom he coached in Cincinnati and Anaheim. i would say ... no. with technology as it is today, i'd say most teams are pretty prepared as far as tendencies, player skills, strategies, etc ... bottom line is you still have to play the guys, and you never know for sure what they'll do until they do it ... Rice 42 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Doubtful. The Ducks are a completely and utterly different team than they were with Babcock behind the bench. He may know what Kunitz's favorite movie is but I don't know if that's much of an advantage.
ILWingsFan1 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 (edited) Hopefully he remembers Giguere's weak spot. I keep having flashbacks to 2003. Go Wings! Edited May 8, 2007 by ILWingsFan1

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Different team, different personnel than the team Babcock had in 03-04 in Anaheim. In 03-04 the Ducks were pretty much a one-trick pony line. Any scoring coming from a line outside Kariya on it was a bonus. Now, in my opinion, the Ducks can still play that trapping style I think, but they can open up the offense when needed. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 Getzlaf , Penner , Perry , Kunitz , mcdonald , Giguere , Pahlson. He knows alot of there team Never coached - Getzlaf, Penner, Perry Only coached Kunitz for 21 games. He has coached the others a little more. That said, I'm not sure any familiarity with any of the players is a real advantage, maybe a little.
