Well since i have gotten here I have been ripped on more then half my comments. But there my opinions and if you were a diehard Ducks fan you would probably agree with majority of what i have said. I really could careless about what some of the jerks on here are saying ( and yes there are some! there on are every forum) Calling me a bandwagon fan when i have watched hockey for more of my life then most of the socalled "diehard wings fans" on here. It just seems like if you dont agree with alot of the people on here then you are wrong. And thats jsut ridiculous because i havent agreed with alot of the stuff said on here and im not coming off calling you a moron thats clueless about hockey and is a rich dumb socal bandwagoner.

See, ridiculous assumptions like these are what get you ripped. Are you too "non-smart" to figure that out?

Listen bud, the fact that your say "diehard wings fans" yanks my chain a bit. It is unecessary. Most of our members, if not all are diehard Wings fans. The majority of us started watching hockey at a young age. I personally watched hockey since I was a baby. I even went to games while my mother was pregnant with me. I started playing hockey when I was 4, hockey is life. Hockey and the Red Wings are things that I live and breathe and I would be a completely different person if they did not exist. So what do you call diehard.?

No, they wouldn't. I think we've seen as much from other Ducks fans that have posted here. It would appear that you're flying solo on a lot of your "opinions" and that's the reason why so much of the venom has been in your direction.

You make outlandish, out-of-leftfield and erroneous statements you can expected to get lambasted for them.

Some posters have crossed the line at times, and I think I could be guilty of dancing along it here and there, but don't confuse having your argument ripped apart with being baited into a flame war.

For the record i totally disagree with justduckies assessment on the Holmstrom melee. Pronger got the game i assumed he would get to sit. Game on tonight.

You make it sound like because we ahvent soldout 300 games in a row that we arent true diehard fans. My life is Duck puck. If i coudl afford to go to every game i would. I havent missed a Ducks game either listening to it on the radio, watching the game on tv or at the game since oct. of 2000. My whole room has Ducks stuff on the walls and on every day game i wear orange and my ducks pin at work even when i got written up for not taling if off. I eat, sleep, dream, and breathe Duck puck and noone will ever change that

now was this really called for in a thread saying that some of the wings fans need to calm down? all you are doing is adding fuel to the fire. i haven't really seen your posts much but if they have been like this i can see why you have gotten alittle more then the other ducks fans.

Actually, what I meant was that a couple duck homers would get on the thread and make ridiculous statements, like Homer had it coming, or that it was a borderline illegal hit, or that Pronger shouldn't be at fault because he's too tall, and then LGWers would come back with trash talk.

Again, I never said those people shouldn't be ripped for *those* type of comments.

Once again, I'm referring to some of the replies a good amount of LGW'ers are making in regards to clean hockey talk. Nothing more.

I am sorry if you feel that you haven't gotten a fair shake from Wings fans here, but:

1) We are, by and large, diehard Wings fans. We won't agree with you on everything. Many of us do know our hockey.

2) There are a few "homers" on here who are blinded by our love for our team, but most of us are reasonable fans who want to have interaction with other hockey fans and will treat you with respect, provided that you don't try to goad us into some kind of flame war.

3) I have not really followed your earlier posts, but something about your tone in this post comes off as rather confrontational and peevish.

4) Sadly, a lot of fans in traditional hockey cities don't give much respect to teams located in the sun belt. It is (perhaps unfairly) a knee-jerk reaction to assume that fans there are noobish about the game.

5) If you come here with a good-natured attitude, you will (I hope) be treated in kind. If you come here with an axe to grind, things might turn ugly.

most don't but you certainly could be in the minority.

 that last statement is beyond me but please provide evidence of these claims.

If i coudl afford to go to every game i would. I havent missed a Ducks game either listening to it on the radio, watching the game on tv or at the game since oct. of 2000.

congrats, sounds like you do well by your team.

My whole room has Ducks stuff on the walls and on every day game i wear orange and my ducks pin at work even when i got written up for not taling if off. I eat, sleep, dream, and breathe Duck puck and noone will ever change that

again, sounds as though you do your part to support anaheim but who exactly is trying to change you?

How much of a Duck fan you are is not what's in question here. It's the lack of reason and logic in your posts with "I'm a diehard fan" attached to them as some sort of justification for ridiculous remarks that's the issue. Just make your points (hopefully backing them up with accurate and factual supporting information) and move on. Don't give us the "Well I've been a fan since day 1" crap to somehow place more credence on what you're saying.

I was thinking the same thing NFM25, I was thinking about it last night that we claim to be a great, friendly place to talk Hockey and I don't think we are really living up to that IMO.

Oh yes we do,go to any other team board and say your a Red Wing fan and watch what happens.

This is the best site I know of where everyone from any team is wellcome without ,your team sucks attitude.I loveLGW IT'S WHERE PEOPLE CAN TALK HOCKEY WITHOUT ALL THE CARBAGE.(sorry about the caps)I must say I do want to say some things sometime when a person comes here and says things that are not true.I don't like it when our team is accused of being the NHL'S pick to go to the finals without being a team that has fought to be there.

NFM, thank you for this thread it will improve the quality of what goes on here significantly. And to the point about other boards, I haven't posted on any other boards either, but I have noticed how many fans of other teams are regulars on here. Leafs, Preds especially and they're some of our biggest rivals. We have a reputation to uphold.

I'd like to add something to NFM's post as well. I'm not trying to go all PC on everyone, but it really did bother me to see so many references to ***, ***, HOMO, etc on the Photoshop Wars thread. I don't like Pronger either, but you guys are better than that, come on.

Now I don't want to pick a fight or call you a bandwagoner or anything, but.... the way I remember it was you saying that 90% of us nonlocal Wings fans were the bandwagoners because we've like a team that is been good for like 5 years. Comments like that make me mad considering how passionate I am about the Wings and have liked them for far more than 5 years, as are many people on this site who aren't from MI. Like I said before I don't want to argue or anything, but when you call people out like that, you have to expect that someone will attack what you've just said. Still much respect for continuously posting and not just being like "screw this, these people are idiots"

I'm glad you care about my opinion  I can assure you I'm not the only Ducks fan to disagree with you. I wish you would read your posts before you post them.

I don't remember arguments with you on AD, but whatever.

I really appreciate this notion made by NFM. I also received a kind PM from another member of this board along the same lines.

Not all us Ducks fans are like 'justtheducks' in posting and trying to justify it by saying we're 'die hards'. I'm a die hard, and I haven't agreed with one think you've said.

NFM, Thank you. Thank you very much.

Excellent post, NFM. 100% agree with everything you say.

I know it's hard for most of us on here to get along with opposing fans, especially being the playoffs, but I still think there draws a line somewhere. We are known here to be one of the best, most classy hockey boards on the web and I most definitely think it should stay that way. Yeah we are going to disagree with fans of the Ducks on certain things, and that's fine..but the name calling, insulting..etc needs to stop. If someone bothers another poster THAT much then just put him on her on ignore. No need to flood the board with insults galore and make all Wings fans look bad..

Anyways, I thought I'd let it be known that WildWing, Duckette, Zamboni, and RobertWho? Are all pretty awesome on these boards, and I truly do appreciate that they are the classy, cool Ducks fans on here that keep it all in perspective.

LGW is one of the, if not the, most respectable hockey fan site out there. I wasn't around as much last playoff, but it seems as though some of the newer members here are starting to give this site a bad rep, making us look like other sites that have very disrespectful members. They do this by calling people out and disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing, regardless if they have a valid point or not. I'm definitely not saying all new people (Wings fans or not) are jerks. And I know playoffs bring out the 'crazies' :P

We welcome fans of other teams to come here and post, which I think is great. We shouldn't expect them to share the same feelings as us though, nor should we criticize their opinions. That seems to be what happens, though. At the beginning of the series the welcome threads come out and when the games start people are like "Eww Ducks fans...You're wrong about everything, you suck"

I don't know if I've made any points in this post, but I just want anyone new who comes in here to know that this is a respectable site, with respectable people. Don't be detered from posting here because of the people who disagree to disagree. The people who have made this site what it is appreciate your point of view (unless you are a troll :D)

Good topic... I would just like to add:

No one, and I mean no one, comes into our house and pushes us around.

If you play nice... we will play nice (for the most part)
