regwinguofmfan 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 They did not have better chances tonight. Hasek played like an ass clown again tonight. Why is it this guy feels he can take the night off every now and again? I feel this is a blown opportunity, that could very bite us in the ass.
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 I keep forgetting to add on something. lsdkjgsj Bertuzzi by far had his best game of the playoffs tonight, despite the loss. I know..I know his giveaway led to the first goal, but after that he did everything right. Cycling the puck, putting pressure on the Ducks, hitting, making great passes, and obviously..scoring. Great game by him. He really is starting to come around eh? That is a great sign. I agree, HC, this was Bertuzzi's best game for the Wings but I still think he turned over the puck alot (on the first goal and I remember a couple other times too) and was too easy to take off the puck in the Wings zone, Best offensive game so far?, yes, defensively?, I don't think so. Yeah I agree on not being his best defensively. He knew it too. He was extremely pissed after the first goal..and same thing when he was interviwed after the game. He actually kinda called himself out.
Guest bullocks Report post Posted May 18, 2007 just got back from the game. Very dissapointed to say the least, as it really seemed like we WERE the better team throughout, its just they had the better chances. the last two chances for us were heart stoppers where one went just wide and the other grazed the post. We have to win game 5......we just have to. i can't believe flippula hit the post, and yah when that pucked just rolled wide looks even more heart breaking on TV. lol

WiNgSowN 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Some of you guys drive me crazy. I mean seriously..get a grip. Imagine we lost game 3, and won tonight. You all would be jumping for joy. We ASKED for split and we got it. I understand that we could of won tonight, but let's give our guys some credit for even coming back in this game. They never give up and they should be applauded for that. Dom is going to be a wall on Sunday. The series is tied. Game 5 is ours. Everybody calm the hell down. Thats what I'm talking about Nobody said it was going to be easy you can't expect the ducks to fall over without pronger he's only one player they played without him before and everybody knew it was going to be a tough, long series it's the conference finals after all the ducks are here for a reason the wings still have home-ice advantage that is a big positive

WingNut 25 5 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Sure a split is great but this is an enormous missed opportunity. No Pronger, two 5 on 3s, battling back after being down 3-1 after 20, 2 hit posts in the third, etc. Hasek played bad, simple as that. The Wings played poorly in their own zone. The Ducks didn't even bring their desperation "A" game but they cashed in the opportunities the Wings gave them. Very disappointing loss and if there was ever a must win game 5, it is Sunday. redwingsgirl 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Best of 3 series - we've been here the last two rounds and pulled through. Sunday is going to be EXCITING! Can't wait to scream loud and wave my towel at the Joe!! (and maybe Boo Pronger too!)
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 we all know how Hasek bounces back from a game like this. Yes we do,...YES...WE...DO!!!

Missing 5 on 3 opportunities was killer for me watcing the game. Not clearing their guys out from in front of Hasek was nerve-wracking to watch. Agree that this should have been our game to win, but unfortunately, we move on and start over and work for those last two wins. I hate to say it, but this could have been a turning point for the Ducks. Winning w/out Pronger and then riding the momentum with him back in the line-up back to Detroit...maybe the two days off will help us out. I still have faith in the Wings though!!! Our veteran team can take the next two!

After the game they interviewed him on FSN. He was saying something along the lines of himself needing to step up near the end there. That the Wings needed to score on the PP and that was the difference. He said they know what they have to do etc..and that they are a much better team than that. *As in not scoring on the 5 on 3's." He did though sound optimistic about Sunday.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Let's not forget the 2002 Colorado series: Had a chance to put them away in 6, blew it, felt terrible, ended up rocking them in game 7. All will be right after Sunday's game. Have faith.

regwinguofmfan 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Putting all kinds of pressure on Giggy and then having an easy one go in on Dom is the killer tonight. Im sorry but 3 goals were piss poor, especially the first one. Dom you gotta step it up, dont be the chump.

It's how he plays coming off a 5-0 shutout that bothers me...too many "soft goals" and not enough clearing the guys out from his D is a bad 1-2 combo against us. The boys have some things to work on this weekend so they can come out and get back to their "A" game on Sunday. They didn't look horrible, but it just wasn't enough tonight. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Well, just finished watching the game after listening to it on the radio. Wow did we dominate or what? We were clearly the superior team out there tonight and it’s so shattering we’re not up 3-1. Pretty much everyone had strong games, except I didn’t notice Franzen too much tonight. Filppula made two great moves and was extremely unlucky not to score. Zetterberg was flying in the 3rd period, and Cleary and Bertuzzi were great all night. Giguere stole this game for Anaheim and considering we dominated, I’m not overly worried heading into Game 5. If only we capitalised on those 5-on-3’s. redwingsgirl 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 That's why I'm saying expect a strong game in 5 & 6. Wings in 6. WINGS IN SIX!!! It's been our style so far this post-season. I see NO reason for it to change! :octo:

The Wings played really well. One of their best road games of the playoffs. Actually, Games 3 & 4 were by far their best away from the JLA. I don't think it's a matter of them not dominating enough tonight. They just got unlucky and the bounces did not go our way at all. The 5 on 3's were the difference. That's really about it. Oh..and Giguere was pretty damn good. Not great, but good enough for tonight anyway. WINGS IN SIX!!! It's been our style so far this post-season. I see NO reason for it to change! :octo: There ya go! Although winning three series in six is kinda creepy. 6-6-6. Yikes. LOL
