maybe he will have better luck next season. A friend of mine was telling me that Kronner's not unlucky, but that he doesn't think about what he'd doing and puts himself in bad situations, i.e. reckless play, leading to all the injuries. He's a hockey reporter, so maybe he knows what he's talking about. I dunno.

Yeah I know what you mean. Some call it playing 'reckless abandon' as in putting yourself in those tough, dangerous situations where you can get injured, and you just don't care.

I don't think Kronner plays that way. If you look at all his injuries they were mainly freak ones. Getting caught in a rut during warm ups and breaking his leg, tearing his ACL, getting hit from behind and breaking his sacrum..and so on. I just don't see the whole reckless thing.. that's just what I think though.

lol, that must be a typo. try like 6 million. and bertuzzi, kozlov, and schneider are all at $4 million. i don't think we'd want any of them except maybe schneider for that kind of money.

well, I agree with you, HC. But, I sometimes seem traits in players that others don't seem to, good and bad, depending on one's viewpoint, so who knows? I share your opinion that Kronner has just had his entire career's worth of weird injuries, all packed into the last couple of years. It simply has to get better for him, right?

i know he is old but what about gary roberts for a year and save the money to after iginla next offseason

I'll pretend I didn't hear that.

You may be completely right, given the WCF, but I'd have THE hardest time accepting JI in red... noooooooooooo. I'd rather not make the playoffs than have him wearing the Wheel.

(I never aceepted Hull (appreciated his contributions, but to me he was never a Wing-- yaya, I'm a hypocrite) and not even truly accepted Cheli until the last couple of seasons)

Kozlov only made $2.3 this year, and even though he had an 80 point season, he was (as has he been) a no-show in the playoffs-- doubt that we'd have to pay EVEN as much as $4 for him, which is why I was hot for him a few days ago, when I thought a cheap, playmaking scorer that fit in w/ the Wing system would be the way to go.

Looking at the SCFs, and who made it there.... darnit, give me some large guys that can throw their weioght around and snipe some goals.

Give me the next Shanny. Is that too much to ask?

It might be, it is asking a lot.

I'm really not trying to pick on you or your quoted 'everyone'... but in what benighted universe does anyone pick the Hawks? Besides true fans?

Actually, I used to root ChiHawks, when Cheli was there. There was a fire and snarl, and yes, dirty deeds done dirt cheap by their Captain (not the Cheli was the only one-- Wings had Vlad, DMac, Dino, Primeau, etc). LOVED to hate Cheli back then, it took a bit of adjustment to lurve him as a Winged Wheel.

The Mellow Chello is a far better player, IMHO.

 Hahahaha! :D

Here is a look at the NHL's top 30 free agent and what teams are interested in them.

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/topfas.html

I find it funny how they call Smyth a power-forward.

A lot of the stuff on this sheet seems pretty arbitrary.

Edit: Also, what drugs must the authors of this sheet be doing if they actually believe that Giguere will pull in only $2m in salary next season?

Of that list, I'd take Bertuzzi (3M), and Sutton (2.5M)

Also sign Sarich (3M)

Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Homer

Cleary - Filpulla - Bertuzzi

Franzen - Hudler - Grigorenko

Maltby - Draper - Kopecky

Samuelson

Lidstorm - Sarich

Kronwall - Sutton

Chelios - Lebda

Lilja

Hasek

Osgood.

Look at that D. Holy s***. Extremely physical.

Forget Schneider. Forget Markov. Give Quincey another year in AHL (he's only 21). Leave Kindl in OHL.

I am a bit surprised at the overwhelming support for the Wings signing Bertuzzi this summer. Back injuries are funny and he isn't exactly getting any younger. The incdent with Moore is also hanging over his head...nobody here can deny that what he did to Moore has had a big impact on the player Bert is since then. Sure, he has had injury problems but Bert has lost something...that frankly he may never get back. I don't think signing him is worth the risk. Plus he is not going to come to the Wings for a song; there are several cup contending teams in the NHL and it's not like he has been in Detroit for a long time...

No kidding. If Giggy can be had for $2 million, sign him now.

No. I'm pretty certain no goaltender commands more than 2 per season. Even Martin B.

Bertuzzi support is from Piston fans. Someone should be able to take a James charge!!

I don't understand a word you just said.

Luongo makes 7M.

Brodeur makes 5M (I think)

Thank the Lord..the Wings aren't interested in a certain Predator.

Kozzie sounds good to me!!

And Bert is staying. It's pretty much a given. He loves it here, says its close to home. Kenny and the Wings want him back. He'll stay.

 I would love to see Kozlov back with the Wings . As it says on the list ,He's one of the most underated forward's in the NHL.

If the Wings managed to somehow sign him, Bert, Schnieds, Huds, Cheli and hopefully the Dominator( if Dom retires the Wings should go after Backstrom) for next season that would make me happy . There was not much wrong with this season's Wings team ,if they can stay healthy and with a couple of tweaks here and there . They will easily be one of the favourite's for the Cup next season.

If Holland has a chance to sign Hartnell - I say he'd be crazy not to! Everybody here hates him because he gets under the skin of his opponents; kinda like what Maltby does now, & Vladdie used to do...This guy on 1 of our top 2 lines would probably be a consistent 25-30 goal scorer, has no trouble playing a nasty game, and has decent defensive awareness.

Slava Kozlov =

Bert can stay, but def not for the amount of $$$ that the 4th Period thinks he's worth...Big paycut from the $5.2 mill he made last year is in order.

i say that hartnell can give us what we always wanted from calder

yet their captain's a swede

ever hear don cherry ***** about antropov or he calls him andropov

TSN, The Hockey News, The Sports Forcaster, NHL.com, XM Radio...

Over the past few years, this year especially with the Havlat trade, a lot of people picked the Blackhawks to actually make the playoffs. That organization really makes no strides to win, but still, a lot of people still think they'll be a good team again, every year.

if were re-signing bertuzzi at $3 mill i'd definitely pass. But i agree with signing Sarich. But i'd re-sign Schneider and dump Sutton off ur list. Sutton is a big useless bum. We need schneids on the power play.

backstrom had a half of a year of solid goaltending and suddenly everyone wants him. he's 29, he was projected to be a back up in the NHL before Fernendez went down. I still don't think half a season proves anything.

Also, we don't need Kozlov type players. He's a pansy.

Black Hawks will be good in about 3 years time. They have nice prospects, and will be drafting Kane #1 overall probably.

Wow, for all the drooling over Briere is estimated salary is ridiculous...no thanks.

Giggy, however, would be a steal at that salary...I'm guessing if he wins the Cup he'll get more.
