Ken Daniels may be considered for Hockey Night in Canada job

If I was Stader, if Daniel left for good if he went to HNIC, which I doubt he would, I wouldn't come back. He's in Fla calling Panthers games. Granted its the Panthers but you're in Miami and that would be hard for me to leave. Especially since you know Mickey won't be around forever.

Ken would prolly still do Redwings telecasts, and do HNIC when the Redwings have an offnight. Its the same thing Jim Jackson(The Flyers tv pbp announcer) did for Versus last year when they were OLN. Ken wouldnt leave FSND for any money in the world unless they drop him all together and bring another guy in with Mickey which wont happen.

I do like Ken Daniels alot, I like his comments and I think he could do both jobs, that would probably mean the Wings getting more HNIC games. Bettman needs to find a better affiliate for the NHL. ESPN would rock, but there is TNT, TBS, FOX affiliates, CBS, and I cannot see why NBC would not put hockey on a better cable channel that everyone has. Sorry but Versus had been terrible. Sorry but Monday night games on the same night as Monday Night Football, and Monday Night Raw, whos idea was that?? Probably Bettmans. The NHL needs to compete with the NBA, therefore Have games on the sametime as ESPNs basketball coverage, trust me it would work, but not with versus. DON'T GO KEN!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

I hope he doesnt leave FSN. He's a really passionate commentator. And I love his "SCORES"!!! Unlike when we had to deal with Ken Kal and his helium enduced screams. We need Ken to stay with Mick!

Ken Daniels wouldn't be going anywhere. He'd just do Saturday night Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. Someone else would do the Saturday night Red Wings games, like Matt Shepard (CCHA Hockey play-by-play) or Mario Impemba (has done a couple of CCHA games, would probably only be brought in if Shepard had a committment with U of M basketball).

Heck. Mike Emrick does the Devils TV games and all those games for Versus, NBC, and CSTV.

I would be very surprised if Ken Daniels leaves FSN Detroit completely to do HNIC. I could see him possibly filling in on Saturday nights at the expense of some Wings games, but there is little chance he is going to leave what he has. Ken has the best job in the world right now. He gets to work with Mickey every night, he does play-by-play for the most successful team of the past decade or so, and the Red Wings by far have the highest television ratings per-game for regional broadcasts of any team in the US. I can see why HNIC wants him though - Ken is one of the best announcers in hockey right now. Watching games would not be the same without Ken and Mick.

bring in Gary Thorne! I miss him on ESPN!

I would mute the TV and listen to Ken Kal on the radio if this ever happened. Thorne can stick with calling the Baltimore Orioles, because he sure as hell isn't meant for hockey. No thanks on Gary Thorne.

If Daniels did leave, which wouldn't bother me one way or another, I would go after Chris Cuthbert. He's always been one of my favorite announcers.
