Why I Love the Red Wings

Lebda's goal late in the season against the Kings. Burke had us on a stalemate after the Wings putting up 40+ shots and only 1 goal, it was tied 1-1 in the 3rd when Brett takes it end to end and singlehandedly saves the world from evil.

Wait.. was that a home game or an away game? I couldn't tell

Road...

FYI whenever you watch games on TV in the future, the team you normally see left horizontally or on the top verically the score/clock ticker is the road team. Plus, the road team usually wears white now. ;)

Actually, it was 2-1 Kings in the 3rd when Brett scored that goal. Sammy won it in overtime on a 2-on-1 with Pavel.

Here:

Indeed, what an outrageous goal. The kid has talent.

Indeed, what an outrageous goal. The kid has talent.

Three things combined to make that goal possible:

He was not challenged until right before the goal. LA was scrambling.

He was able to go full speed (considerable) because he was not challenged.

He was able to get the shot off cleanly, in the slot, with no bodies in the way.

LA just sucks. But all three of those things can be traced back to his amazing wheels, so he definitely earned it.

Actually, watching that, he had two pretty nice dekes and beat another in a foot race.

I think LA was on a line change. They dumped it in and only one guy went after it. Usual conditions for a line change. So that's why LA was not prepared for him. A good read by him though, shows good hockey sense.

I was actually at that Wings @ Stars game on Valentine's day this year... it was so nice being able to jump up and rub that win in all those stars fan's faces... The funny thing was how many Wings fans were also in the crowd... amazing.

And what other hockey player has been in a song that actually got radio play besides Yzerman!! That is how cool the wings are, Kid Rock used Stevie's name:

"I'm in it to win it like Yzerman,

can drink about 15 Heineken!!"

Sorry for bringing that up!
