sounds good to me.

i wonder what's gonna become of all the Smyth rumors going around.

if he ends up in detroit, id give the similar reaction to when i heard Bertuzzi getting traded here "whattt?!"

Schneider walks if he asks for 5 +, which means markov will most likely sign

Bertuzzi and Hasek sign...

Smyth could be a possibility tommorrow, although Kozlov wouldn't surprise me, and neither would a priessing like player.

My secret dream signing- Cory Sarich

May I ask why? Nothing personal, I was just curious as to the admiration of Cory Sarich. He had 15 assists last season, and a -6 rating. Yes he can hit, but so can a guy named Hatcher, and he didn't work out. I dont think Sarich is what we need to replace Schneider ( assuming we resign Markov).

Kenny is a tricky man. I am worried but not to much. I say we hhave 2 signed by midnight tonight. Hasek, and Bert. That is a steal for Dom!!! I will be very happy if thats his pay check.

hasek will be the only player to sign by tomorrow

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../706300326/1128

we arent near to signing the guys , hasek will be the only one not to test the market

I disagree. That quote is Holland's last ditch effort to bring down asking prices. The salary demands for Dom, Bert, and Markov are thought to be very reasonable and well within Detroits budget, with plenty to spare for a top six forward. (albiet not one of the top teir FA's) Right now Holland is working hard to work something out with Schneider, if that doesn't happen they will let him go and sign the other 3.

I've been of the impression that Holland hasn't signed anyone because he wants to maneuver into a position to sign all four.

Bert and Hasek sign before July 1.... Schneider walks unless he comes down to $4-4.5, which will then allow Holland to re-sign Markov and then sign Preissing and a forward, I think Kozlov would be the most likely.....

i really want Schneider, but i dont think it's going to happen. but i do think that bert and dom will sign today.

Smyth would be cool to pick up, but how many other teams are looking at him? i bet a lot, that will for sure raise his price up.

Actually tomorrow is the day. Not today. And for me, as long as we retain Schneids, Bert and Hasek, Im a happy camper. Funny thing is its gonna be hard for me to fall asleep tonight from excitement. As soon as I open my eyes tomorrow, Im gonna SPRINT downstairs to the computer.

Go back and read this article again...Holland not once says he isn't close to signing his free agents. This is more media propaganda. Trying to sell papers. Holland is quoted in saying he will talk to all of them up until and last day and that Matty is a big part of their team, that's it. His other quote is pertaining to the free agency in general. The rest or the article is hot air.

I really doubt Smyth will end up in Detroit, but if he does then smite me down. Bertuzzi and Hasek will probably be signed by midnight. Markov is 50/50% to me, and Schneider is most likely going to test the free market.

Seems like all the writers are saying Smyth to Detroit. I hope so.

Which writers? All I've heard is Smyth wants to "win"... That excited me about Detroit, but alot of other teams can "win" as well. Do you have an example or a link?

As far as I'm concerned: Hasek, Bert, Markov... If not Smyth, than Jason Blake, or Dainius Zubrus... I'm not worried about another D-man.

Here's my predictions:

Hasek around midnight.

July 1

- Bertuzzi early around $2.5-3 with incentives

- Schneider to East team

- Markov comes for around $2.5

- Wings sign mid-level UFA forward for around $3mil (Kozlov)

OR

- Wings sign high-level UFA (Smyth/Blake/Forsberg/Souray), In case of another forward being signed, Lilja becomes regular 6th dman.

please sign bert, I don't care about anyone else but i really hope we keep bert.

Yea, at first I was all hyped on keeping Hasek, Bert, Schneider and Smyth just because its close to being possible and would look good on paper. But now I think we'd be fine as long as we sign Hasek and some other mid-range UFA D-man similar to Markov last year. Let the younger guys develop and see what's available at the deadline. Anything other than that and I'd be stoked.

who cares what he says im saying all except hasek will test free agency , i dont think were close to gettin matty cause hes got every intention to see whats out there and i think some team will offer him at least a 5+ per year deal with maybe 2 seasons attached , bertuzzi is rumored to be seeking a 3 yr deal , im sure some team will give him more then our one year deal .........and markov well i think he will be back , thats my gut again you could be right , but we'll see and tomorrow is coming soon and it should be an exciteing day

IMO Schneider is by far the number 1 priority. However, I'll be so disappointed if we lose Big Bert. Guys like Markov can be replaced. But a player like Schneider is irreplacable. I hope Kenny feels the same way.

id rather have quincey play instead of lilja , but since meech cant be sent down he'll likely be the 7th d, unless they trade lilja and give quincey his spot ( he had momentum last playoffs so why ruin the guys confidence by sending him down again ??)

QFT! I agree with you 100%; We need to keep Schneider, because he's vital for our Powerplay. I think Hasek is just as important, however.
