Yzerfan75 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 Does anyone else think the lettering looks strange....like ripped from a glam band's 80s album cover?
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I don't think those are half bad actually.. One of the best jerseys so far that had significant change.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 Would look better without any text at all. Either have 'Tampa Bay Lightning' or none at all, not half.
Wings_Toledo 233 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 So far I'm not the least bit impressed by any of the new logos or sweaters for the upcoming season. This one in particular looks like the artist came from the Toledo Storm School of Design. Aesthetics have gone out the window with Bettman in charge... datsyukonethree 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 This is the first updated jersey I've seen that I really don't like. The cuffs look awkward and the shoulder patches look terrible on the solid body.
amberlynn25 9 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 I like the darkness of it. black and blue always look nice together.
Erack82 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2007 This one in particular looks like the artist came from the Toledo Storm School of Design. Are you kidding? The new Tampa Bay Lightning logo is far superior than the Toledo Storm logo. Besides the obvious similarities of having a lightning bolt being the main identifying factor for each team, what else are you basing the aesthetics on? At least the Lightning's logo was able to keep a similar look to the original while keeping their tradition. In contrast the Storm have a child like rendering of a hockey stick along with an obscure typeface above an extremely flat non dynamic/interesting lightning bolt which is supposed to represent a "storm". At least the contrast between the black, white, and dark blue create a more interesting composition than the flat muddled baby blue counterpart. While the new Lightning logo may not knock your socks off, the overall execution is solid especially when taking previous attempts into consideration such as the monstrosities like the Dallas Taurus, and Boston's Winnie the Pooh. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted August 27, 2007 The less text the better IMO. None > Tampa Bay > Tampa Bay Lightning.
Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted August 28, 2007 (edited) They've definitely improved over the last design by a long shot. Yzerfan1999 where do you see the numbers on the away jerseys? I looked on the site's photogallery and didn't see that. what do you think? Edited August 28, 2007 by Yzerfan1999
