Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=33707...mp;service=page Sorry if it's posted already. Can't this guy just decide already? I gotta say, I don't know why he'd even think about retiring. He's only 34 and still one of the best d-men in hockey today.

I'm just gonna start calling him Hamlet from now on.

zata40 3 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 this just makes me mad, he should make up his mind. he's stupid if he quites the NHL at 34 yrs + being on of the best D in the NHL. but hey if he does quit, it's an easier duck team to beat.
kozac 10 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Wow he's only 34? Whats with all the gray hair already? He can't retire that young.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 And while we're on Neids, Selanne should make up his mind too.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 And while we're on Neids, Selanne should make up his mind too. At least Selanne's not under contract. Niedermayer IS. And this is just a cheap ploy by the Ducks to get some salary cap relief.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 There's no way he'll actually retire.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 Selanne and Niedermayer will be back later on in the season. The Ducks have this all planned out, and it's actually a very smart plan.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 Wow he's only 34? Whats with all the gray hair already? He can't retire that young. He just turned 34 too. Actually though, my brother in law has had quite a bit of grey in his hair since he was 20 or so. How about that American Idol guy? Not sure how old he is, but there is some age limit in the mid-20s or so isn't there?
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 This has got to be a ploy. If the team isn't in on it, they'd have assigned the C to another player. This is not the kind of thing that makes for a great leader. FWIW, I started turning grey at 16.
