auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Is a hockey or Red Wings page your home page in your internet browser? Mine is blank, but then I have like 12 Red Wings home pages that open up in tabs. I am Twelve is kinda too many though so I'm in the process of trying them all out, see which ones I prefer. I'd like to get it down to maybe six or eight. Here are the links I'm trying right now. Official - http://redwings.nhl.com/index.html - not objective enough, cluttered page CBC - http://stats.cbc.ca/nhl/teamstats.asp?team...p;type=teamhome - nice clean page, lots of info Freep - http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=SPORTS05 - not a big fan of the layout DetNews - http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/secti...gory=SPORTS0103 - OK, and I get updates in the A.M. ESPN - http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=DET - good one nice layout, lots of info MLive - http://www.mlive.com/redwings/ - local, and I find I get alot of info from it. MyWay - http://sports.myway.com/nhl/teams/det/ - no graphic ads, not enough info SI - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hockey/nhl/teams/red_wings/ - great photos, cluttered page, links to other sites for info The Hockey News - http://stats.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/...eamhome.cgi?Det - too sparse Topix - http://www.topix.net/nhl/detroit-red-wings - info seems dated, and links to other sites. TSN - http://tsn.ca/nhl/teams/?hubname=nhl-red_wings - another old standby, nice layout, good info Yahoo - http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/det - might be the best, AP stories, division standing at top and photos at bottom So let me know what others I should be perusing. Or what you think about the ones I selected.
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 I'd add Spector's Hockey. I check that site multiple times per day. Spector's Hockey Other than that, I'd get rid of the News and Freep, I hate both of their websites for some reason. TSN and Yahoo are nice, so is CBC. I actually don't go to the official site a whole lot, either.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 I rarely ever bother going to the Wings' official site. You're never going to get much info out of them. I dunno about that Topix thing, it doesn't look like you can get anything there that you can't get anywhere else. Same goes for the myway site. I'd ditch those three. Definitely keep the News and the Freep, they have dedicated writers for the Wings that will churn out plenty of good info.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Aside from LGW, I frequently read TSN.ca, Freep and Detnews. I don't even waste my time with ESPN or NHL.com.
96warrior 11 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/ I find this site updates regularly after the morning skate. I usually check it right before lunch.
vangvace 12 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 TSN LGW Fried Chicken Foxsports I may give ESPN a try again but I hate the insider crap and their scorebanner

Yeah, that's a good one too. I'm subscribed to that one in my Google Reader.
Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 Red Wings Central Great site with the most up to date info on prospects. Gets updated every Monday.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 DetNews and Freep are a given because they're the local papers. So yeah I will keep those for sure. Spector is too much about the NHL and trade rumors. The Fox site looks good too. I really like the the two-week calendar up at the top, but I doubt I will go back since it's powered by MSN. I refuse to support Microsoft in any way. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 I added one more site, that isn't listed in this thread. http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/teams/page/DET Also added Red Wings Central. I check them daily but don't open them all in tabs at once. It just takes too long. Anyway does anybody know of a site that compares a team's stats to another team's stats? auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 This was something more along the lines of what I was looking for, http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/playerrankin...&_1:col_2=4 I click on the different column headers, but it doesn't change the sort.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 How do you keep track of the Wings in Everett....Center Ice?...I'm up in Whatcom county. Yup, Center Ice.....it's a godsend. I watch every game (at least, every game that I'm home for.) No more circling national TV dates on the calendar. Whatcom County sucks by the way lol....kidding. Mostly. I'm just bitter about the time it took me 2 and a half hours to drive between the BC border and the Skagit County border because Whatcom was the only county that didn't plow or salt I-5. Scary trip but it's actually a beautiful county in the daylight and on dry roads.
