I'm looking forward to this Rangers/Flyers game. Hopefully a nice big brawl will break out right on national TV.

You know Cote will want to rematch Orr, hopefully Colton doesnt decline in an effort to be "smart" as ive seen him do a few times this year. Boulerice is also in...sucks that Strudwick is out as Orr is the only guy who is capable of fighting either.

I honestly can't understand why the Rags keep Strudwick out of the lineup all the time. I mean, he's a thousand times better than Marek Malik, who seems to have found his way back in the lineup.

I dont know either, he's not that good,..but isnt bad either. You'd think against a team like the Flyers they'd use him at least.

SON OF A F**KING B*TCH!!!! A fight ive been waiting forever for, Chara vs Brashear...and it ends immediately after a long square off.

Hopefully Thornton tries to avenge Erskine busting up Lucic in their previous fight.

Thornton/Brashear in a beaut!

Great showing by Thornton, although i give Brash the win on first look

Bradley vs Reich seems inevitable...i think the only question is when, not if.

Lucic and Erksine would be great.

I really dont think that ones going to happen, Lucic's nose is still recovering from their first fight. Thats why the Lucic/Ruutu fight got extra hoopla, cause Lucic really wasnt supposed to be fighting but did so anyway cause he's bad ass! But exchanging with a legit heavy is a different story though...

Boy, it doesnt take very long for people to get these fights up on you tube these days!

Agree on the B's, I find them to be entertaining and plus theyve got some guys i really like such as Chara and Thornton. I hope they do well in the postseason. Very tough team for sure when everyone's in.

It's too bad the Bruins are such an otherwise boring team, in the sense that they trap all the time. Their still pretty entertaining when it comes to fights, though, so I try to watch them when I can.

Riley Cote vs. Andre Roy

This is an interesting developing story. Cote wins this fight with an obvious beatdown, but it doesn't stop there. Later on in the game, the Flyers arena staff plays the fight on the scoreboard video during a commercial break; the entire Flyers bench then proceeds to laugh at Roy for getting beat so badly. Roy then becomes enraged, and things get interesting. He then goes after the Flyers players for making fun of him, needing to be restrained by Tampa coach John Tortorella.

Now, today, it is reported by TSN that Roy has been suspended from the team (or isolated, as they put it in another report) because of the incident. According to comments by Tampa GM Jay Feaster, Roy will be suspended for the teams next two games (see the entire transcript, though there is not much, below):

Tampa Bay Lightning enforcer Andre Roy has been suspended by the team for at least two games.

According to a report in the Tampa Bay Tribune, the club sent Roy home this morning in reaction to an incident in Thursday's 3-2 loss at Philadelphia.

During the game, Roy had to be restrained by a linesman then physically pulled to the bench by head coach John Tortorella after being enraged by the Flyers in-house staff for replaying Roy's second fight with Riley Cote on the jumbo screen. The Tribune reported that with each replay, the Flyers bench laughed at Cote's quick punch that sent Roy to the ice.

''After last night's game, I felt it would be best for the team and for Andre if he went back to Tampa and we separated him from the team for the next few days,'' general manager Jay Feaster said in a statement. ''I will meet with Andre on Monday and we will determine any subsequent course of action at that time.''

Roy will be out of the lineup tonight against New Jersey and Sunday in Columbus.

This whole situation is all pretty interesting, to say the least. The most amazing thing of this story, though? Riley Cote actually won a fight, and it was a KO no less. I have nothing against Cote, and I admire his willingness, but he's really become a punching bag this season. It was a bit surprising to see him take down a pretty established enforcer so easily like he did. I don't really think Roy is that great, but I'd expect that he'd do better than that (he did in the first fight between the two). Roy let up for a split second, and Cote took full advantage the 2nd time around. I give him a lot of credit for a strong showing.

...and yes, if one of the broadcasters calling the fight sounds familiar, that is indeed Larry Murphy, who works for the NHL on HDNET in his spare time I guess. Who would've thought? :hehe:

Nice to know how things work in Tampa. You show emotion because an NHL team is laughing at you, and you get suspended. I'd kinda like to see one of Tampas smaller europeans have a run taken at them just so Tampa sees how important a guy like Roy is too a hockey club.

Props to the Philly in-house staff though, if they do that during the playoffs they could give themselves a better chance to win if there driving guys crazy like that.

Det#1 - I know you'll like this one if you havent seen it yet!

I guess Lucic must be cleared to fight! Not good competition in Bradley, but that was a pure beating.

Suprisingly hasnt been any scraps yet, but St Louis has King, Janssen, Walker, Mayers, and Jackman all dressed. Gotta be the toughest 5 any team has thrown out there this year! You'd figure one of King/Janssen would go with Godard, maybe King with Godard and Janssen with Vandermeer in what would be great and probably long ass fight. But nothing yet....

If the Wings ever dressed a lineup like that, people here would whine constantly about how Hudler and Kopecky and Sammy are having their precious spots on the team taken away by players who don't contribute offensively, as if those other guys can contribute offensively. Just shows you how far the Wings philosophy is from other teams.

Also, I'm sure Anaheim has dressed just as tough a top 5 many times this year.

I was thinking about that, but i'd take that Blues 5 over Parros, May, Moen, Sutherby, and Beauchemin... its close though. Anaheim would take it after that cause of their depth with Bert, O'Donnell, Getzlaf, etc.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the whining thing. I believe opinions would change quickly, i mean look how many people disliked Downey but now like him in the lineup. Most, if not all homers, conform their opinion to how the team is. If theyre all skill, fighters arent necessary. If they have fighters, it becomes a great thing to have...if you know what im saying. Whatever type of team is thrown out there, thats what they think is best. Sure you'd still get some whiners, but overall i think most would be in full support.

Who says we couldn't be tougher and still win? Fans like you have too many misconceptions about enforcers since you've grown up watching this "new NHL crap".

"Fans like you" Give me a break. You don't know what I think.

I never said anything against the Wings getting bigger and tough; I agree they could use a few more big bodies. St. Louis isn't a team I'd look to as a model, though.
