I'm also 100% positive you are DetroitIan

You are 100% incorrect. I've been reading these forums for awhile.

for me it's

Laraque

Brashear

McGrattan

Belak

Orr

Boogaard

King

Ivanans

Godard

Hordichuk

Hard to argue with that list. Personally I think McGrattan is too high. He's actually looked worse as the year went on while Orr, and even to a lesser extent Riley Cote, got better as the season progressed.

I'd give it to Orr or Brashear, probably Brashear. Everyone else didn't fight that much, and Laraque has just gotten on my nerves too much for me to say anything good about him.

Actually, now that I think about it, Brashear only had 13 fights, but that's exaclty what it has come down to with enforcers not fighting as often.

Also, the s***tiest fighter of the year goes to Andrew Peters. He's fallen into the toilet fast.

And last, but certainly not least, I've got to give kudos to the "PAIN TRAIN", for being in 3 fights, and going undefeated without ever having to throw a punch. I don't think that's been done very often.

Peters was a very big disappointment and I also have to throw in McGratton. Both of these guys fell off greatly. A little reminiscent of Troy Crowder back in the day when he was about to be the man. Of course Crowder gave up cocaine and hurt his back with the Wings.

Crowder was a beast, while Peters is nothing but a clown who looked like he had some upside for a while. All he does is just hold that right arm cocked, without ever throwing it. Crowder never had the attitude problems that Peters is having with being an enforcer. As far as I know, his health is fine.

Peters issue has to do with roids imo, or lack thereof i should say.

Although if i was to rank the best fighters overall he wouldnt be #3, ranking this season's performance alone i'd have to give Orr the #3 spot. He had a strong year. Two other guys that moved up alot in my eyes and solidified themselves more are Ivanans and Shawn Thornton.

I wasn't saying Peters was in Crowder class, but Peters was showing great potential as a heavyweight. Then this year he failed terribly at it. Now with Crowder, he had 1 very good & 2 poor seasons with the Devils. He looked like he was going to be a great heavy. He then went to the Wings and had a poor year with of course hurting his back. Then he was out of hockey a while. He came back ans had a couple ok seasons, but he was never the same. Peters has had 1 good season and several ok seasons. Yes Peters wasn't hurt, he just didn't turn out to be the fighter we all hoped. That is were he compares to Crowder.

I always have mixed feelings about this time of year. On one hand, the playoffs are about to begin. The most exciting time of the season. On the other, we have slim pickings when it comes to hockey fights.

Nice game between Stl/CBJ... 4 fights so far! Boll really looking to secure his FM lead over Cote by going with both Janssen and Walker. Didnt fare well in either and took his lumps, as he was outclassed in both.

Yeah, i feel exactly the same. Playoff blowouts can sometimes result in something special for us though. Whereas most people would turn off a 5-1 game in the 3rd, you couldnt drag me away from it

Boll got punked pretty bad in both of those bouts.

Janssen will be someone to watch next season if he can get in the lineup.

Yeah Janssen especially was roughing him up bad in the second half of that fight. Boll shouldnt have been fighting him to begin with, but cant criticize a guy for heart! DJ King is without a doubt a better fighter than Cam, but he's tough in his own right and brings more to the table. He hits like a freight train and is someone you always seem to notice every shift. I think next season they'll go with Janssen and possibly move King....i can already see Philly calling. I love Riley Cote but that blood thirsty city sure as hell doesnt like seeing their main fighter getting beat up by NY's and Pitt's thats for sure. Not that they'd get rid of Cote, but i could see a tandem.

The Flyers/Penguins game is one to keep an eye on for sure. If the Pens build a lead up, and it becomes certain they will meet in the 1st round, messages could be sent and that means fun for us! If its close or the Flyers are winning, it'll probably be relatively quiet. I dont think the Flyers will go out of their way to goon it up if they have a shot at playing Washington.

I hate to report this, but the Wings again finished last in the league in fighting majors, so we're still the pussiest team in the league. :(

Imagine what would have happened if Downey didn't play here this year?

I hadnt been tracking the FM's really aside from the top few teams, but i thought between Downey and Drake we might be able to creep up from dead last...even just one spot. I think the biggest misleading thing is the Canucks being way up there near the top....they arent that tough. Most of the guys who got their fight totals up like McIver spent alot of time in the minors and they never really iced that tough of a team.

By the way, almost didnt recognize you with the new av!

That avatar will carry us to the Cup! :)

I also wish we had a few more fights, since we finished just one fight behind L.A. Someone should have said this to Downey or McCarty, so that they could do something about it that final game of the season.

Oh well, at least we doubled our fight output from last year, whatever that's worth. <_<

Hey guys! A month is way to long to be suspended for lol.

The playoff series in the west are set up perfectly for fight fans. They all could have rough stuff in them, I cant wait. San Jose and Calgary IMO, will be great. Shelley has really turned himself into a player with San Jose, and Calgary always play tough.

Minnesota Colorado as well, Fedoruk has made a name for himself playing with Gabby and Demitra. Boogaard and Simon will probably play in the games for them, Lappierres antics in the final game will make this one to watch.

Oh, and as far as the Wings FM total, Downey really helped us tons, Drake fought early, but stopped and really, stopped being effective. Lilja is in the same boat, fought early and was very effective, stopped, and became a bit of a liability.
