MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 The L.A. Kings are in the process of sending G Jonathan Bernier back to the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the QMJHL This leaves them with the all-star tandem of Jason Labarbera and J.S. Aubin. Start the Martin Gerber/Andrew Raycroft-to-L.A. rumours.......... (I'd put my money on Gerber)

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 CuJo won't go to L.A. He's going to sign with Toronto or Ottawa when they deal either Raycroft or Gerber to L.A. CuJo wants to play somewhere close to Toronto, for family reasons.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 What's he doing in Arizona then ? He's not in Arizona anymore. He's in Toronto waiting for an offer from a nearby Eastern Conference team. It's been said that he turned down an offer to be a backup in San Jose this summer, as well as Vancouver.
sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 what a bunch of A holes in LA. i mean yes the kid is young. BUT no one expects him to beat teams 4-1 like he did anaheim in the opening game. give him the experience. he IS PLAYING FOR LA. i was at the game last night and he held his own. with a defense like LA's, what the hell do you expect? zetts/dats/homer skated circles around the entire team... they should be sending brad stuart down too (i heard more fans heckle him than osgood last night!). just my two cents. Sending him back now keeps his contract from kicking in, so next year will be Year 1 of his three-year entry level deal. It's also one year later that Bernier can be a UFA. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Bernier has a lot of potential. He looked great in that first game against Anaheim in London. It's just too bad he has no team playing in front of him. His overall play was a lot better then what he's stats currently indicate.

Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Hello all. I'm an ex-pat Detroiter living in Los Angeles and new to the boards. I was at the game last night, and except for maybe the first one, the goals weren't Bernier's fault. As MacK says, the move is contractual. And while the Kings' management isn't known for brilliant decisions, you probably don't want to ruin your (hoped-for) goalie of the future when he's 19 by playing him behind a team that's going to get him shelled every night... Aeothe Kaear 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) I thought he was impressive, actually, but no need to leave your potential franchise guy in to be shelled repeatedly when he's still learning the game at the NHL level. Edit: guess I should read slower, as the above post says essentially the same thing, oh well. Edited October 15, 2007 by Aeothe Kaear

Exactly. They desperately need goaltending, but not at the cost of destroying your potential franchise guy's confidence as he sees more rubber than paris hilton on any given night. betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 So that's where J.S. Aubin ended up. It's been a while since I heard that name last. L.A. truly is the depths of suckitude if they dragged that name out of the weeds.
