NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 This is what happens when a GM sells off any chance of a teams future for a couple rental players. Complain all you want about Holland, but the Wings got their rental player last year for practically nothing.

Kutcher 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 Surpirsed they fired him. A 2 player team with one of their 2 guys out is never going to do well.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 This is what happens when a GM sells off any chance of a teams future for a couple rental players. I don't think this is a true statement. I don't think you can correlate this awful start to the trades he made last year.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 I don't think this is a true statement. I don't think you can correlate this awful start to the trades he made last year. I agree. But he basically did nothing to bolster his squad. Re-signing Kozlov was a good move, but Waddell chose instead to stock up on 3rd line players instead of doing anyhting of substance for the D issue and their centerman issue. I still don't understand them letting Savard go for whatever he got, I'm not saying Waddell is a good GM, but I agreed with his trades last year and still agree with them now. Perhaps Tkachuk wasn't the right guy to bring in, but he exceeded any expecations anyone could've had in his short time in Atlanta.

johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 Lehtonen has looked pretty bad this year. Not that he's getting much help in front of him. I watched a bit of the game last night and they looked lethargic.
Hank 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 I knew this was going to happen after last nights 4-0 loss. I don't think the Thrashers total collapse in the playoffs last year helped much.
Rob the Badger 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 I think that this is another case of the org not being able to fire the talent, so they fire the coach to shake things up. The new coach, wouldn't be surprised if it were Quinn, won't be able to do much better. You can only run the race with the horses you have, and their stable isn't well stocked.
