WingNutt 12 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Should be tough game, We have been on the road now for awhile and the guys have to be getting a little tired. With Zetterberg and Lidstrom question will also make this game that much tougher to win. The sharks will be looking for revenge against us for the playoffs and the shark tank will be in a frenzy. Hopefully we can feed off their negative energy towards us and make it positive. Datsyuk and Homer will have to have a awesome game tonight if we have any chance of pulling off the win. Our second and third lines have all been in a slump with the exception of Draper. Ozzy has been playing stellar and should give us a chance to Win as well. Don't know about you guys but I'm missing Markov right about now, With Nick gone he would really help out. No prediction tonight, just wishing the Wings good luck and lets show the Sharks the Wings they feared last season.
kylee 727 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 (edited) i dont see the Wings taking this one. too many injuries. Z has been THE offense, and unless the secondary scoring forwards can prove me wrong, i gotta go with SJ in this one. go ahead, make me wrong Rex. FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 5:30! Live broadcast, as in you actually get to see the game?! We've already had 1 Wings game this season, unfortunately that will be it for a while. Well the upcoming live games shown here in Scandinavia (3-4 / a week) are decided in my beloved neighbouring country of Sweden,so no wonder I get to see Wings games quite often. This will be the 3rd Wings game this season, which isn't bad... It sucks you don't get to see them play more often. There's always NHL radio & sopcasts? redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 What I like to know that if Z and Lids won't be in the lineup tonight who will take thier place? Meech would take the defense spot, but who fills in for Z? Downey and Ellis are already in and Meech Ellis and Downey are the extra guys, so am i missing someone? wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Well hopefully Zetts and Lids are ok. Though it will hurt my hockey pool .. Wings will win a close hard faught battle.. GO WINGS
kylee 727 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 im really surprised that a lot of folks on here are predicting a Wings win despite not having Lidstrom and Zetterberg (at least the possibility of it) were going into the shark tank. against a powerhouse, without arguably our two best players, and our back up goalie starting (looking at this from an outside perspective). This will be the 3rd Wings game this season, which isn't bad... That's pretty cool. I knew the UK was 5 hours off us, but that 7 hour difference must suck. A 5:30a start time actually sounds bizarrely cool however. To watch, not for them to start at. The guys can't even handle a noon icetime without handing over the game. wingsgirl001 983 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 I probably won't be able to watch much of this game, I have to be up early for work tomorrow. Cheer hard for me guys! GO WINGS!!
terri27 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 I hope Z and Lids play, they're awesome. Allthough, I'm not surprised there are more Wings on the injury list seeing how they got hit so many times-stupid cheap shoting Ducks! Thought I'd pop in to say Go Wings because Michigan is supposed to get hit with the nasty storms today that hit farther south around Mississippi. So I don't know if I'll be on or for that long. Wearing my Z jersey for good luck. Anyway, Go Wings and everybody try to have a good time in the LGW.
Jamaica Jon 1 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 I hope Z is good to go tonight. If not, this will be a huge test for our secondary forwards. Either way I'm excited to see how things turn out. I'm still waiting for Flip to breakout and play like he did at the end of last season, hope that happens tonight. If Z is out, we'll definitely need it... GO WINGS! VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Man, I was hoping Zetterberg would get to continue his point streak. And I managed to get both Lidstrom and Zetterberg on my fantasy team (which has been struggling so far), and they BOTH get injured?! The bright side of this is: With Zetterberg out, we can experiment with the lines more without risking much. We need to shuffle the players around. So a game without the superstars gives everyone else the opportunity. We've been relying on the top line so much, that maybe now the pressure will really be felt by everyone else and they'lls tep it up. It happened in the last playoffs, maybe this is what we needed for our young guys to step it up.

HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 (edited) For all of you that are freaking out about the injuries, just realize that when the Wings KNOW they are banged up, they play 10x harder than they usually would. Therefore, we should be fine. All the rest of the team will pick up the slack and play that much harder. Just think of it that way. GO WINGS!!!!! SHUT 'EM DOWN OZZIE!!!!!!!in Wings win it 3-2 (Huds, Flip, Cleary) Edited October 18, 2007 by HockeyCrazy3033

Rob the Badger 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 I love these game day threads. They're always put together so well. You guys know me. I love my Red Wings, but I am thinking that they're going to have a hard time winning this game tonight. They're on the left coast. They have a lot of talent that won't be on the ice tonight, especially if Zet isn't playing. They're facing a team that is going to be bent on revenge since the Wings knocked them out of the post season last year. This is going to be a tough game and I think that we may end up on the short end of the score board. I hope I'm wrong. I'm hoping that the loss to the ducks was a wake up call, but without Lidstrom and Zetterberg in the line up, this is a completely different team. I think we'll face a one or two goal loss tonight. I believe that they'll beat the Yotes though and come home with a .500 road trip. Not hatin', just predicting.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Lidstrom And Zetterberg good to go Just seen this, have to get back to work. GO WINGS!!!! That's a good sign. I doubt either of them would risk further injury this early in the season, so it must not have been a big deal for 'em. Here's hoping Zetts can keep the point streak going. We might have to start placing bets on how long it'll go. I believe that they'll beat the Yotes though and come home with a .500 road trip. Not hatin', just predicting. Given our past history with West Coast road trips, I'd be more than happy with a .500 trip.
Rob the Badger 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Lidstrom And Zetterberg good to go Just seen this, have to get back to work. GO WINGS!!!! Wouldn't you know it. I make a prediction based on these two star players not being in the line up.... and now they're good to go. Well then, I have to change my pick. Wings win a tight, one goal game and move onto the Yotes, returning home with a .750 road trip. Go Wings!
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Let's see, a 10:30 start time and I have to get up at 5am to go to class. I will get like 4 hours of sleep Anyways, I am a little nervous about this one, but I think we'll finally see some secondary scoring tonight: Wings: 4 (Hudler, Holmstrom, Cleary, Draper) Sharks:
Flip-check 6 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 How many of you paid attention to the notice at the start of this thread? Tell your stupid and worthless sophomoric predictions to your friends and save Aflac's great thread for substantive issues! I wouldn't have put it in those words, but I kind of agree... the first three to five pages being filled with "Wings 3-2! (Osgood, Dom, Osgood)" or the next post "Sharks 4-3 (Kopecky, Osgood, Dats)" does get repetitive. It doesn't matter as much to me as what indeed does come to pass.
