96warrior 11 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2007/10/dr...d_cheekbon.html Drake has a fractured cheekbone, will miss next two games Posted by George James Malik October 22, 2007 15:39PM The Detroit Free Press's Helene St. James says that Red Wings forward Dallas Drake does in fact have a fractured cheekbone, but, in classic Drake fashion, he won't miss much time: October 22, Detroit Free Press: Dallas Drake will be out at least the next two games, Red Wings general manager Ken Holland just told me. Drake has a hairline fracture in his left cheekbone, the result of being rammed into the boards last Thursday by San Jose defenseman Kyle McLaren. Drake flew home to Traverse City to spend time with his family Friday, and saw a specialist Monday. "No surgery is required," Holland said. "The doctor has ruled him out Wednesday and Friday. The doctor wants him to take a week from the time of the injury to give it time to heal." Holland also said Drake will have to wear a full face shield when he does return. Drake is scheduled to see doctors again Friday, and if everything goes well, Holland anticipates bringing Drake on the three-game trip to Western

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 That sucks that he has to wear the shield, that killed Kronwall last year. Drake wont be doing a whole lot with it on, dont wear it Dallas! Your tougher then that
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted October 23, 2007 Good to hear that Drake will be back after just a few more games. We need our little ball of fury back on the ice. lol
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 How long will it take to completly heal, because I think I'd prefer to just let Drake catch the rest, and sit out. I don't think he'll be nearly as effective in his role with a sheild on. Either way Drake was a great pick up this year.
