Does this statistic exist?

I know that the NHL keeps stats on how many times players go to the bathroom on game day,but what about this one:

scoring chances (usually seen at the end of the period summary) and goals actually scored off those chances?

If such a statistic exists I'm sure that the Wings are at the bottom of the league.

After watching all the missed opportunities last night against Nashville, and watching the preds score on 50% of their chances, frustration led to this thread.

,I'm sending this one out to the Wings faithfull to carry out a little research.

Let the debate commence.

This should explain everything you need to know.

And this should shed some light on where we stand league wide.

It's foolish to overlook how these stats stand out.

Oh, and who says we don't need an enforcer? Look at where we stand on hits

Wait what? Are you kidding me?

What's with all the graphs and charts? This thread is so confusing.

After giving this some more thought...

The Wings have since the mid-90s been pouring on the shots and scoring chances so the stat you're looking for might be misleading.

Hell, I even remember fanatics bitching about the 2002 team not putting the puck in the net often enough

Zeke. i have a plan.

We'll get babs on the horn and let them know that either A) the players need to score more per chance taken or B) pass up the boring run of the mill chances and get more of what i will call RRGSC (really really great scoring chances). that way when we look at the RRGSC totals and the wings put 90% of those in the net, we can be satisfied.

i think the wings just need to ease up on the pressure in the opposing zone and really only expell energy on breakaways and 4 on 1s. that way we can bring up that treacherous percentage of scoring chances actually converted up to par.

Do you mean the same way the Preds and the Bluejackets did in beating us?
