Found jerseys for $90

Hey guys, check it out. The Sports Authority in Great Lakes Crossing has Lidstrom jerseys (CCM) for $80 but they don't have the C on the front and the name on the back is the nameplate. It's not straight like the pre-season jerseys, it is curved like the season jerseys, but it is the nameplate nonetheless.

Anyway, here's the cool thing. They do have some blank CCM and Koho jerseys for $39.99 and then you can take them to The Goalies Den and have any name put on for $50. I am taking mine in tomorrow to get Lidstrom put on. The $50 includes the C on the front as well. He said he can have it done in about a week.

When I was in there earlier today there were still quite a few. Go to where the jerseys are and you will see all of the new Reebok jerseys. If you pass them and go to the wall with the shirts you will see a rack in front of that wall with a big "Clearance" sign on it. That rack has all of the jerseys on it.

Thats a big no no for most places but that is awesome that they do that. I don't even think Fanatic U would do that.

Wow JROLLA, I didn't even know that was an issue anywhere. I called Goalies Den on Sunday and asked if he would do it and he said it would be no problem and that it would be $50. I don't know if it makes a difference that it's a new jersey or not, I didn't know to ask. I guess I'll find out later. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Fanatic U has done that for me... then again i think they love me there, or used to when i was dropping $$$$$'s at their store on jerseys

I would walk in and they would say "hey, we got your jersey almost done!" "Umm what jersey? i didn't order one" "Oh the new ozzie one... we knew you wanted it so we made it for you the second we got the kits "

So we had a close relationship. PlayBall in Westand (across Warren from the mall) also will letter your own jersey.

Wings jerseys are nice because with one color the lettering cost is way cheaper.

I have actually had a Roenick done at Fanatic U via my own jersey being brought in and then Playball did the same with Vanbiesbrouck and Potvin.

I didn't have any problems. Really nice guy, looks like he does really nice work as well. Cost $53 with tax. Plus he said he would have it done within a week.

Great price, great work, nice guy, fast turnaround. You just can't beat it.

I used to love it when Fanatic U opened up. It's a stones throw from my house and it was an awesome place. Now it blew up and the prices went up with it's popularity.

Hey guys, I just picked it up from The Goalies Den today and it looks great. I will get some pictures of it for you guys tonight.

Sorry it took so long, but I live pretty far from The Goalies Den so I couldn't pick it up until today.

I would bet that The Sports Authority still has the jerseys. You wouldn't be able to get them by Christmas, but still a great deal on a jersey.

When I was in last, they had CCM and Koho. I got the Koho because I like the weight a little better, but the CCM were nice too.

I was checkin some out over here in canada and found new ones at 140 , and some store is having a sale on old jerseys at 70 so i was thinkin i might as well get the old ones , you guys think the new jerseys will stick around or theyll eventually go back to the old ones??

I can vouch for the Goalies Den being great. I've gotten at least 4 jerseys done there (Doug Brown, Tomas Holmstrom, Hasek, and my Jack Johnson USA jersey) and they've always been outstanding. For some reason I don't have the pictures of the Johnson on my computer anymore, but they've always been great.

Toying with the idea of getting an Edmonton third jersey off ebay and getting the Goalies Den to put Comrie 89 on the back. I've always wanted one of those....

It's the old ones. I really don't like the new Reebok Edge, I can't stand the material or the style change. The change was slight, but enough to bug me.

We even put the C on the left where it belongs. So other than the fact that it is Koho and not Reebok (last years Reebok, not the Edge), it looks just like last years jersey.

I personally hope they go back to the old ones, I don't like the new ones at all. From what I hear, the players don't care much for them either, but of course that is just hearsay so take it for what it's worth.

One of the complaints that I heard have been coming from the players, is that the jerseys are not wicking away the sweat like they are supposed to be doing (or like the old ones), but instead the sweat is running down their arms and filling their gloves. From what I heard, they have to use two to three pairs of gloves a game, because by the end of a period the gloves are squishy and heavy.

Again, that is just something I heard from a friend who said he saw it on a special, so I could have heard him wrong or he could have repeated it wrong, or any number of things so it is totally hearsay.

I'm excited to head back to Michigan for Christmas. I'm gonna have to drop by The Goalies Den. I haven't been in there in a couple of years. I used to live in that store since I worked in that same complex.

I must be getting used to the new jerseys...because the C there looks weird to me now.

I wish I could find a good local place for inexpensive jerseys but...well, it's Jersey. What do you expect?

Bad news, I called The Sports Authority in Auburn Hills and they are out of the CCM and Koho and only have the Reebok Edge now. If you live nearby, you can look for yourself, the lady I talked to might not have known where to look, or might not have looked hard enough, but I asked if she was sure and she said she was.

However, if any of you live anywhere near Flint, The Sports Authority in Flint has a bunch of CCM left. Same price.

I'm just curious if anybody here was able to get any. If so, what name are you getting put on it?

I can get the older style jersey for 40 bucks and then i usually take it to Toms Collectables in Taylor at southland mall and get a name and s*** put on for 40. Looks just like the real thing. plus they have the edge jerseys for the same price as the joe but look 100% better for being a repilca. Im thinking of getting one done up with probert on it since i already have a dats, hank and howe in the candy strip.
