Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I don't think that there is a heavy out there to be had right now that would be worth it sadly. Edit: Huggy Bear is on his last year with the Caps... hmmm If there's one legitimate heavyweight out there that I could have, a guy who can play a hell of a game and fight the big boys of the league, it'd be CHRIS NEIL! Neil can go with anybody and the guy can flat out play hockey. Not too mention that he is a very solid body checker. How many of the big boys can actually catch somebody out in open ice? Not many of them. Most of the big heavies just fly around trying to hit effectively and almost none of them can do it in open ice. Neil can. IMO, for my money, if I wanted a legit heavyweight there isn't a better all around heavy than Neil.
Skiing - Puck 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Mirasty is about as bonehead as they come, I love him but he can't play hockey at all, no way he ever cracks Detroit's line up. He isn't even the greatest fighter, just really, really entertaining Hey, he has scored a goal this year. and if I am correct it was the and if I am correct it was the game winner. Nasty also has the second highest win pecentage in the AHL right behind Steve MacIntyre. In all honesty the only one of those two I see every making the NHL is MacIntyre, but Jon would sure draw some fans.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 5, 2008 Is Link Gaetz still playing hockey? He'd be a pretty good addition to our blue line.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 It appears to me that there aren't as many of these kind of players out there (when you compare todays game to what we had seen in the 70's/80's)...Wouldn't it be great to find a few Gallant/Tocchet/Graves types via the draft within the next few years? Well, i think it has more to do with the way the game is today. I mean there are some good or great players who can throw the fists, but theyre more than likely encouraged not to. Fighting back then was alot more prominent. A guy like Nathan Horton is very much in that mold for example, but obviously Florida isnt going to be happy if he is getting in 10 fights a year. Its just way things are viewed these days, which of course i dont like! Joe Thornton and Iginla are also guys that are great players that would be fighting alot more if they played back in the day. Good players who can fight are definitely around, they just dont do it as often, or much at all is what im saying. I mean look at what Rick Nash did against Jim Vandermeer, i mean who the hell seen that coming?
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 Jon Mirasty, hehehe. If Holland signs him, I'll eat dog poop. Of course, friggin' Holland will probably do it just to spite me. I hope he's not reading this thread. For fight fans, you can't top LNAH. Mirasty-Sugden and Mirasty-Yablonski are amazing bouts.
2probert4 8 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 'Cause Tootoo won't fight anyone who actually wants to fight him back. He hasn't fared well dropping the mitts as of late, Wisniewski and Foote beat on him pretty good. Not sure if he's fought after the Foote fight last week. Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Superstars should not fight, he might get injured and miss lots of games, there are other guys that are here to fight. Take Rick Nash, if he broken his hand, he might miss a month or two. Whats better, a fight or healthy player. Right.
