pjgj13 30 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I was just flipping thru my cable guide and just found out I now have it. In flipping thru the weekend before I go to work, I found out on Sunday there is a 1 hour show call "Raised to the Rafters : Steve Yzerman". Just thought I would bring it up as I haven't found any mention of it on these boards.

Krystal 41 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Oh thank you! I didn't have center ice last year so I missed the entire thing (and even if I did, with the way they treat pre-game shows, I doubt I'd have recieved the pre-game feed). Knowing I can see it on Sunday makes me giggle in such a good way. ^.^

While I don't watch it religiously (I don't really watch much TV outside of live sporting events or an infrequent movie), I've seen it enough to enjoy it...in-depth highlights (i.e. more than 30 seconds) and they just go straight to the local feed for whatever games they broadcast. And while I've never watched any, it does show minor league games on occasion. Plenty of past series as well in terms of stars/legends, memorable moments, etc. I only have had a problem with it once where my local cable company lost the feed for it during a Wings-Kings game recently. They didn't get it fixed in time for the game, but got it rolling the following day and it's working like normal now. Frustrating obviously, but what can you do though, stuff happens sometimes in customer service that is beyond my or their control. I'm usually understanding and willing to be patient with stuff like this. While it should (and usually is close to 100%) be close to 100% online/working all the time, there's going to be a breakdown sometimes, hopefully just very infrequently like in my case. The only thing that stinks about the NHL Network is for those who can't get it (much like the Versus debacle), games on NHL Network are blacked out on Center Ice, which really stinks cause both stations are still struggling for availability overall. I am fortunate to have both stations. Edited January 4, 2008 by SouthernWingsFan
Swede40 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2008 Picking up the NHL Network is the best thing Comcast has done since the NFL Network.

pjgj13 30 Report post Posted January 5, 2008 Well, it isn't on as they are NOW showing the outdoor game from last week. As of now, it is scheduled for next Friday. Also this Tuesday, there is a show about the one of the Wings / Aves series.
Red Kingdom 4 Report post Posted January 5, 2008 The best part of the NHL Network is that they'll show classic games most every day. The other night they showed a Wings-Leafs game from 1971. They usually condense them down to 2 hours but, you get to see all the goals and even the fights that may have been in the game. Two weeks ago, they showed a game from the 81 playoffs between Vancouver and Chicago. The game had to line brawls and they showed both. It was fun to see that old stuff again. Plus, they have shows that might feature the best stuff from a certain year, like the best goals, or best games. Lately they've showed alot of stuff from the 90's and you get to see all the old Wings stuff from back then.

To get it on Comcast, you have to pay for the sports-tier though. I have had NHL Network for a good 4-5 weeks, I think. NHL on the Fly is great, with all the old games and stuff. freebyrd 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 My time warner recently aquired the NHL network and I"m thrilled. I know the neighbors had to hear me squealing when I found it as I was flipping through channels. Not living in a hockey market, I figured 'center ice' would always be as good as it got for me. Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 It's only on Comcast if you have digital cable. If you don't have digital cable, you are SOL. I don't.
Mickeyisms Rule! 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 It's only on Comcast if you have digital cable. If you don't have digital cable, you are SOL. I don't. You also need to add the sports tier to your digital package. I got rid of all of my movie channels and added the sports tier. I don't miss the movies, and have all hockey all the time 24/7/365. When my wife finds out that I cancelled the movie channels she may get a tad peeved, however.
Swede40 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2008 Not only do you get The NFL and NHL networks...you get Fox Sports Channels from around the country. CSTV kicks ass as i got to see Michigan-Boston College early on when they weren't on local. The sports tier added to Comcast is only like 5 bucks extra a month and it's worth it. Wish the big Ten Network was on it though.
