T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted January 15, 2008 Snooping around on youtube and I found this Flint Journal montage of one of MAC's games. The hockey shots are kind of erratic in the video and hard to follow but you still get a feel for the game. There's also a little interview with MAC at the end. Enjoy! Cheers! esteef Thanks for linking the video. Great to see Mac play. I guess we've all aged since Hockeytown III in 2002.

His last quote is what I liked, "I'm in a good place right now. It's just nice to be a part of something, I'm working towards a goal." Keep 'er goin' MAC! esteef

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted January 15, 2008 Bringing McCarty back would certainly put fans in the seats anyways. I don't think he'd really hurt the team as much as people think. He could be an improvement over Drake, which isn't a bad thing. As long as bringing him in doesn't mean pushing Downey out, and he shows he can still, I'll be in favor of the move. Plus, if he still has it, we might see more fights.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted January 16, 2008 How long until we hear about McCarty's comeback story during a live Wings broadcast? Unless it's already been talked about of course... Franzen has a big game tonight, I can smell it!!!! Cheers!!! esteef

LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted January 16, 2008 ...if anything, with him being one of the faces of the glory days in Detroit, especially with how much he meant to the Wings during the 90's and their Cup runs, if he doesn't revitalized his career, he may try to get a one day contract and play one shift so he can officially retire a Red Wing, which is where he should retire. It's been done before, I think Ray Bourque signed a one day contact with the Bruins so he could retire where he belonged. Not sure if he played a shift or not. I think the fans would go wild to see #25 on the ice one more time (at least) Hey, who knows, he could pull a Joey Kocur out of his hat, I bet that is what he is hoping inside... Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 16, 2008 Yea, Mac should really retire as a Wing, he deserves it.
