Ottawa Fans are looking ahead to Saturday's game

I live in Ottawa and they play tonight against Buffalo, yet everyone is looking past them and foward to the Yzerman induction on Friday followed by a battle of the best of the West and beast of the East (not so much of a Beast are they?). Anyway, it is nice to finally hear the sports talk radio station talking about how good the wings are. I am going to meet Yzerman on Friday at the induction ceremony and on Saturday I will be sporting my Datsyuk jersey and decked out in Wings gear

I must admit I was surprised how big of a game this is for Sens fans. I marked it down only because I live here, otherwise it is just another game against another opponent the Wings will leave in the dust. Even Spezza said he can't wait to score on Hasek again, I hope Ozzie is in because Spez has 3 goals in 2 games against Hasek and Hasek is un human against Minnesota.

Well the Wings will come into Ottawa, score 5 in the first, send the Sens fans home at the start of the third period (as they usually leave with 10 minutes left in third anyway) and then go on there way back to Detroit with another Win under there belt.

What do you guys think about this great respect for the Wings from a Stanley Cup contender?

I am getting used to it, it is the same when my football team (The Pats) play anyone, or my b-ball team (The Celtics)play anyone.

If you are the best team in the league and it is by a far margin and you are destroying the competition like they have lately (minus Col) everyone gets up for you, especially the weaker teams. For example last night the C's lost by 12 to a horrible Bobcats team, why. To the C's this was just a regular game, the Bobcats this was there chance to make a statement, in Boston against the #1 team in the league. They played with playoff intensity.

BTW what a great year for me, my fav major sport teams Det Red Wings, Boston Red sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots. Now if Newcastle could turn it around in UEFA I would be pumped!!!

I'm looking more forward to seeing the Wings in Anaheim. I'm a little sick of hearing about how Scott Neidermayer has completely turned that team around. So what if they spanked the Maple Laffs 5-0?

I must say out of all NHL teams I despise the sens most.

I work with Sens fans and my brother-in-law is a huge sens fan. I hope the wings don't take a night off on Saturday and really spank'em 7-1.

Not only a spanking, but someones got put the hammer on that giant ***** Spezza :nhl_crach:

Is ***** such a bad word to use here??

:puke: SENATORS :battle:

right on guys!!

I hate the sens too. I hang out with some friends watching the game and when they get scored on I cheer a little, I am not a die hard fan of their opponent every night, I am a Sens hater. Come Saturday I will be going insane when the Wings light them up and hopefully shut down their top line BECAUSE THAT IS ALL THEY HAVE!

Why not a Bruins fan? You don't like Timmy Thomas? You must have been cheering for them a little with Dave Lewis at the helm for a year?

By the way (I did not like Dave Lewis at all)

I grew up watching Tor games with my Pepere (grandfather) he was a leafs fan, I liked watching Stevie Y and started rooting for him and his team. Where I grew up in Maine, we didn't have cable until High School (1993 I know) so I was unable to watch Bruins. My Pepere hated the Bruins and wouldn't watch them (He lived in a town that had cable) so I would go to his place to watch most of the leafs V wings games with my cousin. They rooted for the Leafs and I rooted for the wings.

BTW I didn't hate Dave Lewis but I sure as hell didn't exactly like him. But like I said before you never want to be the guy following the legend, you want to be the guy following the guy following the legend!

Ottawa will probably put Alfredsson on the second line with Fisher giving us two great scoring lines.Detroit hasn't faced a balanced team like Ottawa this season.

The sens would have70pts too if they played in the norris division.

There is no Norris division, it's called Central nowadays, just so you know.

Ottawa is best in the East, but noone can tell how would they do in the West. Saying that they would be over 70 point now is biased statement. But not surprising at all. Sens fans are like that.

Ottawa's weakness is that they tend to play down to their opponent's level,so tonite should be no different. The capitals came in here 2 weeks ago and scored 8 goals

The Northeast and Central divisions, without including Detroit or Ottawa, both add up to 181 points. That means that both divisions are equal if you don't add Detroit and Ottawa into the equation. Also, the West is stronger than the East by 30 points.

In terms you can understand, your rebuttal makes absolutely no sense. It may have worked last season, but not now. Nice try, though.

Tard.
