EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 I think they should let both of the Onion Twins go and make them share a jersey, each plays half the time. heh~ At first I thought you meant have them share a jersey, like, make one really big jersey and tie them together like siamese twins! That would be comical at the very least lol.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Agree on both. I still can't get over the fact that Legace is going. He has put OK numbers this season. I don't think that he is All Star worthy just yet. I think you could make a better argument to have added Hasek. Which would have been sweet to have Ozzie start the game and then Hasek close the game. I'm willing to bet that two teams have never sent two goalies and i doubt it will ever happen. But man that would be kind of cool IMO. Grant Fuhr and Andy Moog shared the All-Star Game net multiple times while playing together for the Oilers.

blues_demitra38 11 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Leclaire over Legace? I don't think so. Legace has not only put up All Star numbers, but has been healthy for the majority of his games. If Pascal didn't spend a lot of time on IR then I would agree that he should go over Manny, but he hasn't so he shouldn't. That said, if you really feel Leclaire should be there, he should make it over Osgood who isn't even the #1 goaltender for his team. Not saying that Leclaire should have made it over Osgood, but between Ozzie and Manny, Ozzie should be on the outside looking in. Other snubs: Brad Boyes Mike Ribeiro Brian Rafalski Tomas Holmstrom if he hadn't gotten injured I saw Huselius' name thrown around and I would agree if he wasn't so inconsistent. He was very average the first quarter then turned it on in the last 15 games or so. And whomever said that Pronger did not deserve to be there should be slapped; Pronger should be starting this game. I agree that Legace doesn't deserve to be there, but I got a kick out of your "just yet" comment. Legace will be 35 years old in a couple weeks. If he isn't worthy just yet, he likely never will be. egroen 384 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Pronger should be starting this game. Pronger is just not dominating this year. Anaheim has been scored on more than they have scored. Their power play and penalty kill are no where near the league lead (of which Pronger is an integral part). I say Babcock sit his ass on the bench the whole game. To be honest, I am suprised Neidermayer did not make the team... with some of the dumb choices made.
Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted January 11, 2008 First and foremost, -Pascal Leclaire got screwed, Legace over him?? give me a break. Even Ilya Bryzgalov would have been a better pick than Legace, no offense to him. Pronger shouldn't have made it in my opinion. -Nikolai Zherdev should have been their. -Paul Kariya? -Brian Rolston (Jonathan Toews if he wasn't hurt) (Ryan Smyth if he wasn't hurt) Hey there Wingnutt, how've you been? No Pronger? That based on personal reasons? Among Western Dmen he's: 4th in points despite having more PIM's than any dman in the entire league 1st in goals tied for 1st in PP goals 1st in average icetime amongst all dmen in the league His +/- isn't spectacular but it's right in the middle of the top 20 scoring dmen in the entire league We might hate him but he's one of the best in the game. Certainly better than Brian Rafalski or anyone else who got left off. Nick Zherdev? I have to believe your playing hometown favorites on this one. Certainly there is no statistical reason to put him in the ASG. In the Western Conference alone the following guys have had a more prolific season than Zherdev at RW. Iginla Gaborik Perry Doan Boyes Sharp Hemsky In looking at the Western forwards who would you leave off for Zherdev Zetterberg and Datsyuk? No Iginla? No Nash, Stastny, Thornton? No Getzlaf, Nash? No Kopitar, Horcoff, Sedin? No Jason Arnott is the only guy who doesn't jump out at me as an All Star level player but even he's having a better year statistically than Zherdev. Either Boyes or Ribeiro should have been there, and of course Rafalski. Let's not forget, though, that there's always a few guys right before the game that pull out or get hurt, so this could still change.
