May vs Barch

Sounds like some of the same reasons for why I like "PAIN TRAIN" :D

When the pain train goes on to defeat Laraque and become champ, you will be the one guy who can stand up and say they supported his skills from the start

May's stance with the wiggling fingers was always a favorite of mine as well

Lose more than anything? you must only watch Drake fight, because thats all that downey does is get his ass kicked.

Downey has yet to get his ass kicked this year, what fights are you referring to?

Of course...nothing tops this one for me though

Excellent choice Lou. :)

You can still catch him on TV, as he's a studio analyst for the Blues on FSN Midwest. Now why can't the Wings do that with their former tough guys?

(although, thinking about, Joey Kocur was an assistant coach here just prior to the lockout...)

I remember when they used to have him on NHL2night with Buccigross, that was pretty sweet. Tony Twist was the man, and during his reign really brought that invincible feel like you just knew whoever he was fighting was in big time trouble. Not that he didnt have a few losses here and there mixed in...(like Leroux, Huard,...i think Ewen ), but he was ferocious!

By the time he got to St. Louis, he was so roided up that no one dared challenge him. He had tremendous power and strength, but his balance and chin were a little suspect. Still, I have a hard time thinking of reasons for why he shouldn't be an all-time top 10, considering his dominance in his prime. Probably the only guy I ever liked that played for the Blues.

I always thought Kelly Chase was pretty cool. But yeah, Twist was one roided up s.o.b.! Thats one thing i really miss in today's game...that one dominant big ass guy everybody is afraid of. (*cue your Lilja response* ;):P )

Boogaard's the closest thing cause of all his KO's, but he cant beat Laraque and Brashear...

Of course everybody is afraid of Lilja. That's why everyone grabs on and wrestles him down when you can clearly see that he wants to open up.

As for Boogaard, he's the best pure fighter in the game today. Laraque and Brashear are just strong wrestlers who are good at throwing someone down and punching them while that person is falling.

That's because they won't let him. Both of them are either so concerned with their reputations as big monster tough guys, or they both simpily don't like punching like in regular fight, that they just wrestle him to the ground. Laraque especially.

That's why I've never been a big Laraque fan. He's one of the most boring fighters I've ever seen. He wins all the time, and dare I say is the league champion, but that's only because he grabs guys and wrestles him down. I can't remember the last time he was in actual entertaining fight, with actual punches thrown.

Agree. Peter Worrell was the same way.

Speaking of Worrell, where the hell is he playing nowadays? I was hoping that because of his connections with Lilja, there would be a chance that we might get him eventually. I mean if Lidstrom can suggest players for the management to sign, then why can't Lilja?

According to Wikipedia - "Peter Worrell is currently in South Florida helping coach the youth travel team, Florida Junior Panthers, and is returning for a second season coaching North Broward Preparatory School Varsity Ice Hockey Team, located in Coconut Creek, Florida"
