mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 That game last night was frustrating. They didn't get many good chances on Lerg, but give him credit he stopped everything he faced. Get the split tonight Blue!!!

hawkupaloogie 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) Northern, huh? When we played them they were a little...violent? Hockey's tough though. I go to BGSU, so go Falcons! haha, we have a bit of a rep for being...hard nosed....i guess you could say. i don't remember anything against bgsu, though, what was going on? our big fight this year was when tech ran our goalie (yeah, it was a bit of a dive, but still), and siddall (#29, he's gonna be great in the ahl ) retaliated. 'cats in white, techies in black. watch for the husky that falls over in the right side of the video after siddall gets done with him (i love that kid ) on topic: still don't care who wins between u/m and msu Edited January 26, 2008 by hawkupaloogie

schulzte 18 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Too bad MSU couldn't sweep, but bye bye #1 ranking for U of M. MSU is right back in the CCHA race.
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Tough break for the Spartans. Its tough to really complain though, taking 3 of 4 points from the #1 team in the country including a shutout at Yost is pretty damn good. Still, its frustrating to lose in the manner they did. Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 That was a frustrating hockey game. They Spartans clearly benefited from the experience of the deep run in the tournament last year. Michigan's freshmen seemed a little unsure/panicky tonight, especially Kevin Quick who probably couldn't have turned the puck over more times if he tried. MSU does an excellent job of clogging the middle, getting into the passing lanes, and not really giving up much (though, sour grapes, I hate that *****-ass brand of hockey they play once they get a lead...but, it works and it has for a long time). They're a very disciplined hockey team and Michigan didn't make the most of the opportunities that they did get. It seemed like most of the time, Michigan was just throwing it blindly into the slot and that obviously isn't going to work against a good defensive team. Nothin' Sauer could do on that goal, and that stop he had on the breakaway early in the game was just huge. Both goalies played well. Hopefully the Wolverines settle down a little bit and play their game tomorrow. I was not happy with Michigans big name players this weekend, they seemed disinterested in the game. Give the Spartys credit, they were great on the PK and took advantages of Michigan mistakes, but the Big Boys for Michigan better step up, or they will be out early again this year. They have a big weekend in two weeks in Miami of Ohio, they better show up!!!
sverige 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 I was at the game Friday and really was not impressed by either team. Lerg and Sauer were both good but that's pretty much it. I know people will say the low score was due to the fact that both teams were playing well, but I really think it's quite the opposite. Sloppy, sloppy game that lacked intensity from both teams. I think these games come down to who wants it more and obviously State did. A little adversity for Michigan will only make them better come playoff time.
