Kevin Allen discussion on Wings deadline moves

Jackman? I'd orgasm, But Blues/Wings working out a deal? Probaly not going to happen.

The scouts were probaly looking at Stuart and how he plays against our Central Division Foes. They could of also been looking at Thorton, Who would be a solid addition for our 3/4th Line.

I'd Honestly want to see them looking at Ivanans, He'd be cheap, and would pay dividends going into the play offs. And it seems like the Kings have been giving him some PT lately, Maybe that's to try and increase his value?

mer. idk

They wont look at another enforcer type....it is probably stuart, teams normally dont trade within their own division. but I don't think its the Central Division foes that they are worried about, probably only the Predators make it unless the Hawks continue this torrid pace they are on.

He's not as sold on Feds coming as others are. Apparently Montreal and Ottawa are also interested. Wings had 3 scouts at the Blues vs Kings game the other night. Blues are rumored to be sellers and may move Barrett Jackman.

I can only imagine what Jackman would cost us. At least a young dman and forward. I'm thinking Hudler and Ericson will be their asking price.

And I really don't see St.Louis dealing with Detroit.

Ericsson and Kindl were said to be off limits recently. It probably is Stuart they are watching. Davidson would like nothing more than to get a few of the Wings prospects and continue to improve at our expense. Blues have a few good defenseman prospects, so im thinking they would want as you said Hudler or Flip included in some deal.

Why would the Blues deal Jackman at all, unless they're convinced there's no way they can re-sign him?

Edit: resign re-sign

According to Esposito this morning on XM Home Ice, theres not much progress with the attempts to resign Jackman.

Ivanans is who i wanted, I know the wings wont ever look at him :P

But Stuart is the guy they are looking at, Common Knowledge

Trading for Fedorov would be such a terrible mistake. He really doesn't offer anything worth giving up a prospect or pick for. Stuart is interesting. He's the type of player I think could do really well in Detroit. Jackman would be intriguing as well. He would definitely bring a new element to defense and the overall lineup. I'd give up Hudler in a heartbeat, but it would probably cost a high draft pick too.

Brad Stuart 6-2, 213lbs, 28 years old. DONE! And he could be someone to look at signing afterwards.

Scott Thornton 6-3, 220lbs, plays with an edge and can drop the gloves. This is the prototypical type of power forward this team needs for the playoffs. He may not score much for us but his size and toughness are keys for helping us in any playoff run. DONE and DOUBLE DONE!

Get 'em both Kenny. Swing a multi-player deal!!!!!!

I do remeber Thornton; a bigger version of Dmac; ex Hab, & Devil; was wrasslin' with Avery when he broke his wrist.

My most vivid Thornton memory was when Jiri Fischer cross checked him the back, driving him face first into the glass.

Later, Thornton pummelled Fischer into a bloody mess.

Its probably for stuart, who i hope will take lebdas spot.

If the asking price for federov is a 1st and a prospect. Holland just turn your head.

...I agree with the Stuart comment, but Fedorov is well worth a 1st and a prospect, especially if other teams are interested in him, you are gonna have to give up a little more in a bid! BTW if Ottawa lands Fedorov, we're doomed. Hand Ottawa the Cup...

Tell me how exactly Ivanans would pay dividends going into the playoffs? He may have a role in the regular season being a tough guy and picking up 4-6 minutes a night but come playoff time he is going to be parked way down on the end of the bench, so far down on the bench he might as well be in the press box where he belongs. Nobody hardly ever fights in the playoffs which makeS him USELESS!! Increase his trade value? ...Thats hillarious stating a team is giving a goon more icetime to increase his trade value. Teams know what they are getting with Ivanans, his skill set is pretty simple. The King's are playing him more because they suck and they might as well give him some ice time and provide the fans with some entertainment value while they are paying him.

I'm not sure that those three bits of information about him are enough for me to say "Done." They tell me nothing about his ability or the type of player he is. Just b/c someone is large and relatively young does not mean they are a good hockey player. I must admit, I don't know much about him. Could someone please give some information about how he plays or his ability? I'm not saying I don't want him because I don't know basically anything about him, just that those things alone don't mean much to me.

I know your a Fedorov fan, but you've gotta be kidding me? Fedorov at best is worth Kopecky and a low pick. If Columbus expects a serious return for Feds, there crazy.

This year's draft is supposed to be pretty deep. I wouldn't trade off too much of it, especially for players like Fedorov. This is not the Fedorov of the 90's. Sure, Holland and company have done a lot with low draft picks, but a deep draft could really help the Wings in the long term. Maybe if Fedorov came to Detroit in exchange for "future considerations" i.e. a pick in the 2009 draft, I'd be more for it.

Brindamour is out for 4-6 months and it now looks like the Canes might be sellers. Which pisses me off because you know Carolina and Detroit will never trade, even though Cole is supposedly on the table and would be an incredible fit in Detroit..

I think some people expect him to come here and be some huge physical presence, but hes really not. That said, he is a gritty Dman and plays with a mean streak. From what Ive seen of him, hes a middle pairing defenseman. Hes got some decent offensive capabilities too. If we brought him in, Id expect him to be a slight upgrade over Markov in all areas of the game: physicality, offense, and defense. But only slightly so..

Thanks for the info. I liked Markov, especially last year in the playoffs, and I was actually disappointed that he didn't come back to the Wings. If this guy is a slightly better version of Markov, then I would be for him coming here.
