J-Swift 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 They're saying on the broadcast now that it's his knee. This could be much worse that just a concussion.
Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 If its his knee, I don't think it is that bad. The way he got hit suggests to me a knee sprain rather then a tear of the MCL or ACL. If you think of how Stevie hurt his in the past or the way other guys tear their knees up, its a lot different. I'll be really REALLY surprised if its more then a bad sprain, from the way he went in and down.
WingNutNorCal 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Agreed, being someone that has torn his ACL, I'm sure i'm not alone here, it didn't look that "severe". Of course any thing can happen.

You know what though J, I've rewound the film already and it looks like Lids put plenty of weight on his right knee as soon as he got up. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wings conveniently said "knee" injury, but its just a case of being woozy and cautious. Here's hoping atleast.

Of ******* course Maudit TAbarnak de calisse de christ de siboir *that's french* We are done, it's over, we can't beat Anaheim without Noriis Lidstrom. I hope Laperriere got injur
zetterberg_fan_40 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 I dislocated my right knee and when I saw that hit the first thing I saw was his knee bent like it was...it started to hurt just seeing something like that. Knee injuries make me nervous. I know how hard they are to recover...Im still having problems with mine.

Goebbel's said it's a knee injury. Lidstrom took a funny bounce with his head off the boards and his chin got a little bashed. He got knocked silly. CenterIce 83 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 He looked a little woozy, too. That may have been part of why he is out of the game. The knee may be just enough to apease the press.

Yeah, it didn't really look like he was in pain when he got up; just really dazed. But as my years as a Wing fan have taught me, even a fairly innocent looking play can wind up in a torn ACL. Hopefuly Lidstrom can come back soon (even if it's not this game), and Downey's McCarty-esque beatdown on Laperriere can turn this team around.
rougerman 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 If he has a concussion I say leave him out for the rest of the regular season. The way concussions accumulate often shorten careers, and lidstrom still has a lot to offer in the next few years. Its a good thing he got injured when the wings are so far ahead of the pack, though. WhiteCloud 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 While a concussion is nothing to be taken lightly it is preferable to a knee injury (especially since Lidstrom has not history of concussions). I tend to agree with Never Forget Mac that they are saying knee when it really is a concsussion. His knee did get slightly tweaked but his head took the brunt of the blow. He looked woozy as hell more than anything else. Here is hoping that it is a minor concussion and he will be back soon. The Wings cannot afford to lose Lidstrom. al48 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 It could be a knee injury. Of course it COULD be, but I've seen enough concussions to be able to tell when someone has one.

He puts more weight on his right knee then his left knee. When I messed up my knee I couldn't put any weight on it (diffrent situation I know)

isbister 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 It looked like he was a bit knocked woozy for sure, but man I pray theres no damaged to Norris's knee. Usually people don't return the same game they get concussed so heres hoping for that. Anyone have Lindros's number?
