They were just talking about bringing back wooden sticks because of the speed of the puck. It was kind of stupid. Maybe regulated composite sticks.

Listened to them interviewing Ken Holland. They really are trying to court that guy, it is annoying.

Also, they are allowing the home team to decide which color jersey to wear in the playoffs.

How many times does it need to be said, Filppula is not going to be traded. Babcock rates him VERY highly and always mentions how he'll have a long and successful career in Detroit. Any trade involving the Wings will not include Flip.

Wishful thinking or based evidence? According to many sources regarded the Hossa trade, flip is at the center of conversations. This trade is heating up and Flip is our best chance of landing Hossa. Flip is expendable

I dont think younguns is saying that. He is saying that while babs might have said that about flip, if the GM and others deem it that Flip is expendable for Hossa, then so be it. Babs' man love for flip wont overrule the good of the team.

I didn't say that. What you implied was that BECAUSE BABCOCK rates Filppula so highly, Filppula will not be traded. That simply isn't the case. Babcock doesn't call the shots, and while his opinion is definitely valued, its certainly not the final say.

And, as I said previously, Im sure the final say is that he rates Hossa higher than Flip.

Fair enough, but the bottom line is that he won't be traded. You don't trade 10 year players for rentals. We won't re-sign Hossa as we simply won't have enough cap room. Look at all the deadline deals made last season, all fell flat on their face. Deadline deals are the most overrated things in sport.

It has already been proven that we can re-sign hossa under the cap system. Do you have specific math proving we can't or is this just speculation?

Exactly. And I don't want to come off as though I'm not a fan of Flip - hes a great kid with lots of potential - but does anyone really expect him to put up Hossa like numbers even when Flip is in his prime? Maybe its just me, but I cant see Flip as a 40 goal, 100 point man even in his best years..

Flip's facebook has disappeared again. I tried adding him as a friend but then he disappeared. I can see why he would remove his gf. Perhaps she was getting flooded with messages too. Of course Flip is going to deny that was his facebook.
