adtthosa 5 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Ugh. I won't comment on the SJ goal. We played pretty well tonight. Stuart looked pretty sharp. Hudler was MUCH better tonight than he has been in awhile. I think we're getting back on track here.

Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 These last two loses have been heartbreaking... I always say, if you are playing bad and you win, it is the start of a losing streak- if you play decent and you lose, it is the start of a winning streak. Just trying to be optimistic
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 obviously that the mesh goal wasn't whistled dead is utter bulls***. especially (and ken brought this to my attention) that the ref was in the process of bringing his whistle to his mouth after the puck hit the mesh and then let it go?!?! that said, clearly the wings didn't deserve to win this game anyhow. i thought stuart looked good. and it's nice to have kronner back. but we still only have two forwards. this won't be popular, but holmstrom has turned into a huge liability. he's way too slow, he can't pas worth a damn, he's really only good if he's in front of the net. now with our puck moving defensemen out he's being counted on more to handle and distribute the puck and he losses it just about every time. and he's slow as hell. i've never seen a wings slump like this. it's just unbelievable. and what's worse is that they don't seem to care. they consistently get out-played. it's just hard to understand. commadore183 103 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Mickey Redmond for referee! While he will be great, he won't qualify, simply because he has common sense, something that, it seems, one must not have to be a ref.

Guest Agalloch Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Stop bitching about the refs. If Holmstrom, Zetterberg, and Hudler didn't all miss wide open nets (AND THEY WERE WIDE ******* OPEN WITH NO ONE NEAR THEM) the Wings don't have to ***** about this. If you're going to continue playing like ass you deserve to have calls go against you. No excuses. Yes, this is bulls*** and I'm mad, but after thinking about it, come the f*** on. If they had cashed in on shots anyone on this board could make you're not in this situation. With that said, Stuart was really good.

I know for sure Vlasic blocked Hank's shot on the open net, otherwise it would of been a goal. The Wings came forth with effort tonight for the most part, them missing isn't their fault as much as it's horrible, horrible luck. It happens. They'll get out of it soon. Take your bitching elsewhere. You constantly say you've had enough and that you're going to leave, yet you linger around and post about how much the team sucks, that they can't get anything going, etc. It's pathetic and is getting damn annoying. If you say you're through with the Wings and this board then I suggest you stick to your word, otherwise don't say it. adtthosa 5 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 you thought we played well tonight? i agree with you on hudler, but the team as a whole didn't look good to me. very sloppy. I didn't think we were bad by any stretch. They had us running around in our own zone a couple times, but otherwise I thought we were decent. We had some good chances in the 3rd but Nabokov (and Vlasic on the one play) turned us aside. I think it was a game we could have easily won. Other than their goals, I don't really remember any great chances that the Sharks had.
Yemack 1 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 we looked pretty ok I think. Like I said, I think we are still the best team in NHL when everyone comes back. couple points about tonight - Ericsson should not start any games for us this spring. He is too green and can't keep up with NHL speed. Best to get him ready for it with 82 regular season game next year. Also he looks pretty weak getting pushed around left and right. If you are a big guy and you get pushed around, it gives other team more confidence. - Hasek looked like 40 yr old man trying to hold on for life. IMO he had no confidence in his game tonight. - Looks like Filppula is getting ready for playoff, man I hope pittsburg is happy with Hossa out with MCL. - Our whole team looked alot better by just having Kronner and Stuart, they really were like big brothers watching over our team. - Can't wait for other D men to come back (and watch people jumping onto our bandwagon again)

I don't care if the Red Wings won this game 7-1 and San Jose's only goal was off the protective netting, I'm still livid about it. Some people won't have the same amount of venom -- obviously -- as they do in this case but a puck out of play is a puck out of play. The circumstances in which it occured does NOT change the fact that it did. The fact that it did at all is deplorable.
Guest Agalloch Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Actually I like to get a reaction out of all of you. Thanks, because once again I got it. I was actually being serious there, and I stick to it. But uh you didn't even refute my post except for one little part, so uh gg. Zetterberg shouldn't have had that blocked.

Uhhh care to explain why? Vlasic was doing his job, and blocked Hank's shot. To say he shouldn't have it blocked is probably the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
