That's freakin hysterical.

Also, sorry if it was posted, but does anyone have post-game comments from Babs?

I watched the interview on FSN, but I haven't seen a link or something on it. I can tell you what he said if you like. Let me know!

Hm.

Guess we're even for that horrible dive Hasek took last time these two teams met.

If it makes any difference, this is now the 4th time the Sharks have won at the Joe. Ever. And they just barely kept from getting shut out by the Wings in the season series (although if you go by goals, it ain't even close).

I'm still thinking this team can go all the way - you just need to get your defensemen back.

That would be awesome!! I am just interested, but was stupid and turned the tv off as soon as the game ended because I was so angry at the outcome.

Yeah no doubt Franzen could of shot that puck.... He may of been looking for the perfect pass, but Nabokov was stopping those tonight or when Hank shot the puck it hit pickles stick or it would of been a goal.

He was asked the normal questions about Stuart. He said he was happy with his play and thought that his physical dimension was what this team is in need of. He was also asked about the injuries and the losing streak, and pretty much defended the GR guys that were up, and that they just aren't getting the bounces, and the ability to win these close ones. Also was asked about Hasek, and defended him that he played good, and pretty much said the D broke down. Was happy with Kronwall. I think that is most of it. I hoped that helped you.

The scoreboard at the start is freakin hilarious!!

We really have been getting screwed lately though. This was equal to the Anaheim screw-job a few weeks back.

Almost everyone on this team looks for the “perfect pass”. It’s got to stop.

I agree. The team is just way too pass-happy. Sometimes you just need to shoot. I think Z does that well. He knows when to shoot and when to pass. Dats does it well too, but he passes a little too much when he should shoot.

Stop bitching about the refs. If Holmstrom, Zetterberg, and Hudler didn't all miss wide open nets (AND THEY WERE WIDE ******* OPEN WITH NO ONE NEAR THEM) the Wings don't have to ***** about this. If you're going to continue playing like ass you deserve to have calls go against you. No excuses. Yes, this is bulls*** and I'm mad, but after thinking about it, come the f*** on. If they had cashed in on shots anyone on this board could make you're not in this situation.

With that said, Stuart was really good.

Actually, if you check out the replays, Zetterberg missed a wide open net because his shot deflected off the shaft of the defenseman's stick. it was a one in a million fluke block. And I think it was Holmstrom's where Nabokov made a huge save. It's not like they just whiffed at it.

Tough, tough way for a struggling team to lose. There's gonna be some missed calls, but that was a joke. This team doesn't need any more problems to overcome than they already have. The Wings are still scrambling in their own end.

The funny thing is we are losing close hockey games with a depleted blue line. 2 of the loses have astericks beside them because of terrible calls. These teams should thank their lucky stars they were on our schedule during this tough time and they just barely won. When we get healthy its gonna be a massacre.

Sorry, but I'm tired of this argument. Terrible calls happen all the time, and not because the officials are plotting against the victim's team but because the refs are human and fallible . Like bad ice, it's a factor that is without blame and is going to affect all teams. How coaches and teams deal with that reality is the issue. The Ducks generally go for overkill, figuring that if there's a penalty on every play the refs aren't going to dare call them all. I'd say Babcock's reaction to the bad call is pretty realistic: yes, it was a bad call. And?

And don't pretend that the Wings haven't benefitted from a bad call here and there. The law of averages being what it is, they should be getting about the same amount of benefit as loss - same as everyone else. That the Wings have packed all of their losses into one month is fluky, but numerically the season works out to being the same as everyone else's as far as the refs are concerned.

Think about Homer in front of the net: he breaks the rules sometimes and doesn't get called, doesn't break them sometimes and gets 2 minutes anyway. It's a gamble the team is willing to take. Granted, in that case it's a calculated effort and not a fluke, but in the context of bad calls it's the same principle.

As to the rest of what you said:

The funny thing is we are losing close hockey games with a depleted blue line. [snip] These teams should thank their lucky stars they were on our schedule during this tough time and they just barely won. When we get healthy its gonna be a massacre.

I agree with you to a degree. I don't think the Wings can count on a massacre ever, but I do think they're odds-on favorites to win it all. The playoffs do strange things to hockey players, and you've got to win the games before you buy the cup polish, but in spite of Feb, this is still an incredible team.

I think the whole struggling and scrambling in our defensive zone will end soon enough. Our three most veteran defense men are still out so we are gonna get that sloppy play but the youngsters and Lebda...Yes Lebda

So I think until we get Lids and Rafs back, we will still see that sloppy work when Kronney and Stuart aren't back there

I can't believe the ref was going to the whistle the play dead....I just...can't....

Honeslty though, I thought Mick was going to have an embolism after seeing that horse s***. The only reason we even got that 5 on 3 at the end was from very blatant penaltys.

I still cant believe Franzen didn't shoot the puck. i bet Babcock crawled up his ass about it.

*Fraudulent goal that hit the protective netting, came back down, and goes in the net counts!

I agree... score should've been 2-1 Sharks. Refs screwed the Sharks right back with that sorry excuse for 2 penalties.

get over yourself. they make bad calls both ways but when goal is counted after it hits the netting then thats just bulls***. as far as bad pens...how many do we have to take agaisnt homer...yeah so don't pull that s*** with us.
