Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 18, 2008 Please, when will the madness stop. McCarty had his time and glory with the Wings, but that is over. Where is he? Injured? Want him playing with his old linemates Draper and Maltby? Draper has a bad groin and Malts just scored his second goal of the season. Please, not since Rocky 7 has a time come and gone to go out with something still left in the tank. Question, do you guys still call up old girlfriends hoping for those good old times? Move on, please. I understand the nostalgia, I really do, but you have to let go.

But we're done with the Hawks... Or would Blubber Lang would be more appropriate?
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 This is pathetic. McCarty might as well wait until next season. I certainly think he'd bring more to the team on the 4th line than, say, Hudler (Come on. We all know Babcock will not give him top 6 minutes when the lineup is healthy again, and he'll back playing with the grinders). I really don't think it'll even come to that point, though. At this rate, he won't be in a single game this season, and Babcock already stated he'd evaluate his progress and see if he can play in the playoffs during the remaining regular season games. His comeback will more than likely have to wait until next year, if he can go that far. I hope he does, since McCarty will always have a special place here in Detroit. Salviaman 104 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 If he can't play in the regular season then why does he deserve a playoff spot when he becomes fully healthy? McCarty needs to move it or lose it.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) H E....I S....H E R E....F O R....D E P T H ! ! ! ! How many times does this have to be said? The only mention of "nostalgia" I ever hear is from clowns on this board trying to bash the entire idea. He's a veteran player with playoff experience. If he can play, he'll play, if he can't, he won't. It's really as simple as that. Everything else is s*** people are trying to read into it. Take it for face value...you'll sleep better. peace, esteef Edited March 18, 2008 by esteef

Hank 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 Geez, Mac couldn't survive the IHL and AHL without getting dinged up. This experiment is over. Why would we put a guy who's never 100% and hasn't played an NHL game in almost 12 months in our lineup? And when's the last time he scored an NHL goal? It's time to wakeup from this dream/nightmare. McCarty's not ever going to be a factor in the NHL again.

He could have easily played with Cleary, Drapes, Homer and Downey out. But nope he is back to the player he was for the Flames.............non existent.......literally. Too bad I was looking forward to seeing what he could provide.

Learn2LuvIt 252 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 Is Darren even going to play for us this season?? I have heard nothing about him and starting to think he's not going to make the playoff roster. Can anyone provide any update/info please??

Especially if he dropped the gloves with someone. This guy was injury prone in his 20's. I just don't see him surviving the NHL in his mid 30's. Dude could wear Knights Armor and he'd find a way to pull or break something. Hes back in NHL 08 woohoo! Hahaha. He's on my Wings roster too. And funny enough (or maybe not funny) he's out with an injury right now. Edited March 19, 2008 by Hank
wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 how did he exactly get injured, anyone know?? Im assuming he's not going to be in the lineup until like the last 2 or 3 games of the reg season
elriqo28 2 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 how did he exactly get injured, anyone know?? Im assuming he's not going to be in the lineup until like the last 2 or 3 games of the reg season broken ribs from last game played in Grand Rapids, that is the only thing keeping him from playing. They need to heal completely or it will just happen again and then he is gone for even longer...
DRAPES RULES 7 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 how did he exactly get injured, anyone know?? Im assuming he's not going to be in the lineup until like the last 2 or 3 games of the reg season He got Jammed into the dasher in a Griffins game. I was there and we all watched as he clutched his side and grimaced in pain. He slowly got up went to the bench and down the tunnel. He returned to the bench but was clearly still in a lot of pain. Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Malts has 5 goals thus far, not 2. Oh then never mind, with that error he is now recognized by me as an essential piece to our offensive glory, since I aint seeing much grinding from him all season. miller76 463 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 i know he had some sore ribs, but i want to see him play already. I saw him in grand rapids, but i want to see him back in the wheel and on his line with malts and draper. Luckily drake has been keeping his spot nice and warm. Does anyone have any updates on when he is going to be making his return and what line he will be playing on? I know there is a mccarty topic already, but noone said anything about his return. anyone? If you want to know where McCarty is, he was spotted a while ago at the Blue Cross/Blue Shield building. lol!

chelios4eva 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 I was just watching the Wings Avs 97 brawl cause I was bored, and I swear I really miss Mac now, I want him to play NOW, I just saw him going into the box and when he was in there, started screaming his guts out, then Larionov was in and Mac yelled something to him, smiled and did a head but with him. I can't wait till he gets back on the ice.
