PROBIE4PREZ 58 Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Update from Thursday's morning skate: Kris Draper will miss at least the next three games becuase of a slightly torn groin muscle. It happened during the western Canada trip a couple of weeks ago but wasn't detected until he had an ultrasound on Wednesday. Darren Helm, the player who's been compared to Draper, was recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) last night and will make his NHL debut tonight against Dallas. Darren McCarty (rib cartilage inflammation) skated with the team for the first time since arriving from Grand Rapids last week but said he won't be available to play until next week, at the earliest. Jimmy Howard was recalled from the Griffins to back-up Chris Osgood tonight. Dominik Hasek is listed as day-to-day with a sore back. - Ive been to 3 Griffens games this year and Helm stood out the most .. speedy lil fawker with soft hands ... 6 ft 182lbs and hes 20 .. sweetness Edited March 13, 2008 by PROBIE4PREZ

WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 (edited) Draper a maybe for Wednesday The Red Wings sent Mattias Ritola and Darren Helm back to Grand Rapids today. Aaron Downey is ready to return to the lineup if needed. General manager Ken Holland said this afternoon that Kris Draper is a maybe for returning Wednesday from a groin injury. The team will have a better idea on his status after tomorrow's practice. Neither Darren McCarty (ribs) nor Tomas Holmstrom (abdominal strain) are expected to be ready Wednesday. If there is a forward shortage Wednesday, the Red Wings will recall either or both Ritola or Helm. GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 (edited) In a selfish way, I hope Mac doesn't play on Wednesday. I am going to the St. Louis game next Friday night, and am hoping that will be his first game back at JLA. That would be about the extent of excitement for that game, since neither team will really have anything to play for by then. I am kind of worried about Homer's injury. From what I have heard and read, it seems to be more serious than initially reported. The Red Wings need Homer back and healthy come playoff time.
