Who do we WANT to play in the first round?

Luongo has never scared me... has he ever been a factor in any of our massive amounts of wins against vancouver?

I would say Canucks just so I can watch Kesler :D

Vancouver scares me. If Luongo gets on a roll he can steal 2-3 games all by himself.

Not me. Vancouver doesn't scare me at all. That's who I'm hoping we play.

Colorado could be dangerous with Theodore coming on stonger lately. And a possibly healthy Forsberg.

Nashville would be great to play as well.

I may be in the minority here, but I want the road to the cup to include all the top competition. Obviously, it'll never happen, but I would love to see us have to down Anaheim, Dallas and San Jose en route to the cup. There would be something oh-so-satisfying about taking on all the toughest comers and walking away with the championship.

Minnesota or the Avs would make for fun hockey to watch given play styles and history, respectively, so I'll take either of them in lieu of one of the above.

Even if we play the nucks, Ouland is out. That leaves Sami Salo and Willie Mitchel as their top D-men. On top of that, the Sedin kids have one goal between the 2 of them going back to mid February. Nothing to worry about IMO. Bobby Lou can't/won't win the series for them.

I don't care about the first round, as long as something happens so we can avoid the efffin ducks in the second round.

I say bring it. The Ducks have obviously improved quite a bit from the 1st half of the year(getting Selanne and Neidermayer can do that). But this Red Wings squad will be unstoppable as long as our guys stay off the IR. We are both talented teams. But we have a big edge in goaltending. Which is arguably the biggest factor to win in the post-season.

I see Vancouver more than likely. But I really dont want to play an overly large team like the Ducks, Sharks, or Colorado. I believe we can beat anyone in a series, but I dont want to play a team like Colorado. Colorado always plays us balls to the wall. They like to finish all of their checks, and my fear is someone getting injured or injured again, and then that would f*** is the rest of the playoffs.

I'm going to say this over and over and over again to threads like this.

DO NOT PICK YOUR POISON.

We were all thrilled to see Edmonton in the 1st round 2006 playoffs because they supposedly played a "similar" game to Detroit and were supposedly clueless on how to play the trap.

Well look what happened...

I don't care what the matchup is, no series is going to be a cakewalk.

Going back to one of our old slogan's ... Anyone just "BRING IT"

Honestly, I am confident in this team when we are healthy. I'm not afraid of anyone really, maybe the Sharks due to their recent streak. Vancouver/Nashville/Phoenix doesn't matter.

Looking at the rankings right now (which won't stay). I'd love to see the stars and ducks play first round...

I want the Ducks to lose in the first round and without Parry and Playing Dallas, it might very well happen. That would be sweeeeet!

See, I have to disagree. Yes, it would be sweet if the Ducks lose in the first round, but I think it would be so much sweeter if we eliminated them.
