Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 18, 2008 I'm torn on this one. On one hand, I want the Canucks to win because I am rooting for the Oilers to finish as high as possible in the league as they can. With EDM and PHX tied at 77 points each, the only seperation is PHX has this game in hand. A Canucks victory would give the Oilers a better chance at finishing above the PHX. Reason being is I want Anaheim to get as low of a pick as possible from Edmonton. On the other hand, I want Phoenix to win simply because PHX is the weaker team and cannot put up the same fight in a playoff series against us as the Canucks could. Either way, I'm going to see disappointment. Don't you mean that either way, you'll see satisfaction?

Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 I kind of want to play the Canucks in round one. Luongo is not as hot as he was last year - and I would LOVE to see the Canucks lose. Again...

I would be terrified of running into him. He's been hot and cold all year, but if he hits a hot streak just in time for the playoffs, he's quite simply not going to lose. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted March 18, 2008 So now it's either Vancouver or Nashville? Boo... Make me almost feel like losing to nashville for the next week. We can lose the points and keep the pres. trophy even still lol.
Cern 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) So now it's either Vancouver or Nashville? Boo... Could be any of the other teams in playoff contention in the NW division. Vancouver's neck and neck with Calgary and Colorado, and Minnesota isn't far ahead of any of them. Because there's a big cluster of divisional games right at the end of the season we probably won't have any kind of definitive answer until the season's over. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 Keep an eye on the Oil. They play these Yotes tomorrow night in EDM so they definitely have the advantage in getting that extra day's rest. After that they play VAN/COL/MIN/CAL 2 games each. If they pick up points tomorrow and put together a nice string of victories in those divisional games, they could squeak into the 8th seed just like they did back in 2006. God kill me if we end up playing the Oil again in the 1st round.

I've privately been rooting for the Oilers. The yotes are probably done. But they won't go without a fight. The rest of the season in the Pacific division will be really exciting.
