Okay, I'll ask again - what is the sharks current streak at?

thanks,

LDi03

they're 10-0-1 in their last 11. and after their OT loss they are currently on a 3 game winning streak.

Come on man seriously, everybody has a hot streak going eventually... just look at us, we've had a bunch.

You can't carry that on for the whole season and San Jose is going to have a lapse in their play soon enough. Especially, I don't think it's going to carry on into the playoffs.

This isn't the first team this has happened to either... take a look at Dallas. They had a hot streak, everybody was panicking and now all we can say is 'Where is Dallas now'?

It'll blow over.

And I'm sure we can all agree:

Wings > Sharks.

They beat them 2-1 in a shoot out....so how is that destroying them?

Obviously, you didn't see the game, so please don't post such an ignorant question.

I didn't wanna say it but yeah. The Sharks dominated the game without a doubt.

The only thing that's scary about the Sharks is their logo. This team's so-called stars have disappeared too many times in the playoffs for me to sweat over them.

thank you.

Marleau doesnt really do anything in the playoffs, Cheechoo and Thornton were kept at minimal damage. with the additon of Brian Campell yes they are a better team, but im just not running scared of them.

not to mention Nabokov can never seem to win the big game. who did they bounce the last two years to get to the 2nd round? the Nashville Predators.

now, im not saying they arent a great team, but they seem to me at least, a team running into the playoffs with a ton of hype, but is truly a paper tiger.

Game 6 was a 2-0 shutout. Mikael Samuelsson earned his spot in Ken Holland and Mike Babcock's heart FOREVER, scoring both goals, and explaining why he still sees PP time.

Haha. I'd say that was the one game in his entire career where he actually played good, and looked like he belongs in the NHL. Since then... well, you know...

I seriously can't believe that, with all the ice time he get's, he only has 11 goals this season. That is absolutley pathetic. This guy get's more PP time than almost anyone on the team not named Datsyuk or Zetterberg, along with the huge amounts of playing time he get's anyways at even strength, yet he only has 11 freakin' goals to show for it. That is amazing... amazingly bad.

...and yet, we still have another season to put up with him, as he's under contract next year. *cries*

Funny, because that's what everyone said about my Red Wings until 1997. I hated that.

I know!!! I JUST found that out yesterday at NHLnumbers.com, and my heart just sank. Seriously.

Ya, they are a damn good team. Nonetheless, I'm gonna wanna see some proof that a few of their players can play in the playoffs (Marleau, Chechoo, etc.) before I start to get too worried.

The same Marleau who has 26 goals in his past four postseason runs (51 games)?

He can play in the playoffs.

West is full of great TEAMS.

East is full of great INDIVIDUALS.

To win a Stanley Cup, it takes a team.

I watched the game yesterday against the Ducks and I'm convinced the Sharks are very beatable. The Ducks were awful. They were undisciplined, sloppy and reactive (especially in the 3rd). The Sharks should've won by 4 goals minimum. They did a great job of having the puck but did nothing with it.

The Sharks are a very good team and I've always said our biggest threat. But they're nothing to be scared of. If we're supposed to be a champion team, we can beat them.

If we are healthy I have no doubt that the Wings can beat the big fishys.

Remember in the begining of the season when we were beating em 4-2 and 5-1? We were healthy then, and if we can stay healthy in the playoffs there is no reason why they should beat us. Let me re-phrase that, there is no reason why anyone should beat us.

The problem here is staying healthy in the playoffs.

Funny, because that's what everyone said about my Red Wings until 1997. I hated that.

Well... exactly. How long did it take for Detroit to shake off the "Dead Things" and do something? We had teams that could have in the 40+ years but none did.

The '08 Sharks aren't the '97 Wings.

Screw 'em, I don't care who you are or what you did or who you signed- the Wings are better. And we'll prove it. GO WINGS!!!

PS. On a side note, do most people argree with me that the West is far superior to the east, both in depth, and individual teams?? In my mind, not only does the West have stronger teams deeper down the standings, but I'd also argue we have the Top 3 teams, and 4 of the Top 5.

I'd say the top two in the league come out of the west, but so are 6 of the bottom 10. IMO the West has more have/have-not teams whereas the east has more parity throughout. Add into it that the East has won 3 of the last four cups...

But to shoot my own opinion in the foot...

6 teams have winning records in the east vs the west.

10 teams having a winning record in the west vs the east. Only Chicago has a losing record vs the east.

I wouldn't be totally heartbroken if the Sharks took it all. They've been "that team" for the past few seasons and they deserve some playoff success.

Obviously, I'd prefer the Wings win it all, but if the Sharks do it, it won't kill me. As long as it ain't the Ducks again.

Agreed. I actually really like the sharks.

I just hate the fact that we will have to play Anaheim/Stars and the Sharks if we are the first seed and go to the Conference finals. That just seems like a punishment for getting the presidents trophy.

I pray that Vancover/Calgary/Minnesota gets seventh seed, steals the first round and we play them instead of Dallas/Anaheim.

Let the Sharks prove their meddle by taking out an elite team.

Last year the Sharks, not the Ducks, knocked us out of the playoffs by wearing us down.

Agreed. We were one Mathieu Schneider (traitor) and Niklas Kronwall away from perhaps taking those overtime games and winning the series.

Either that, or they would have been injured in that series and we lose again, anyways.

Living in California (bay area too), I obviously have a little different perspective. I'm happy to see them do well. I'm digging JR doing well on the team too. Whenever we play them it I'm always nervous. They've generally had our number in recent years and it's a scary thought to think we may face them in the playoffs. It will be a great series.

I hope to see them play the ducks though, for sure. I would love nothing more than to see them knock them off.

I like everything about the sharks, except I hate Ron Wilson....

WHAT?!! You wouldn't be totally heartbroken if somebody other than the Wings won the cup??!!

I would!

That may not be the case though. It is almost certain that two Northwest teams are gonna fall in the 3&6 slots. As it stands, it would be a series between (3) Minny and (6) Calgary. But, whatever the case, it will pretty much be a crap shoot, and actually, in ^ series, I would quite confidently pick Calgary.

Thus, even if the Sharks win, and then the Duck/Stars win, we would play the six.

Bottom line is that, whoever is the 3 and whoever is the 6, are pretty much gonna have the same amount of points, and thus it is entirely likely the the 6 gets the "upset" and we play that team in Rd. 2.

Him leaving was a great thing to happen, because it opened the door for Rafalski. I liked Schneider, because he had a good shot and could put up points, but his defensive incompatance was getting too painfully obvious to watch at times. Rafalski was a nice upgrade, since he can play at both ends of the rink.

Besides that, how is he really a traitor? Does 3 1/2 seasons really bind a guy to a team for life?
