Wings won't let Stuart get away

I haven't been able to notice a 2 million plus difference between Stuart's play compared to what Lilja brought to the team... Stuart misses 80% of the hits he attempts and makes as many turnovers as Lilja does... I really don't think he has proven he's worth keeping around just yet

This just in from period 1 of Game 6 vs Dallas.

Stuart is brutal.

1 botched keep in at the line leads to a Dallas break. 1 late hit interference penalty and 1 step up to make a hit (which he missed) which leads to a 2 on 1 for Dallas.

Meanwhile Lebda makes a few nice clears from the zone, takes the puck down low which leads to a Drake goal.

Lilja and Stuart are the odd men out in this D. The core is and should be/stay Nik, Rafalski, Kronner and Lebda. That 4 has puck movement/passing, speed and hitting.

Cheli is gonna retire and Lilja should be moved. Stuart........GOD don't even THINK about resigning him.

...And we're supposed to clear teams out of our crease how? Ericsson and Quincey do not have the experience or knowledge to become the next Phaneuf in their first season. At least Stuart brings a physical dimension of some sort to our blueline. Him and Kronwall have been a very solid 2nd pairing these playoffs. Kronwall and Stuart have a combined +/- of 13, behing Lidstrom-Rafalski at 15 and Lebda/Lilja-Chelios a total of 4. That's exactly where they should be. But this all probably worthless to even type since you obviously are strongly against Stuart being on this team.

Still there?

What did I mean when I said Lilja and Stuart are the 2 odd men out and have no place in this team because they don't have the brain's to play like defencemen we need?

Well look last night. Lilja getting spooked by Roberts chasing him leads to goal #3, while Stuart's beautiful giveaway pass to the feet of a white jersey leads to goal #1.

He's garbage. Makes a mistake EVERY shift.

It should be Lebda and Kronwall for the 2nd pairing and Lilja and Stuart should play maybe 5 mins a night total.

Stuart is a solid #4 defencemen. If you think otherwise your lost.

So he made a mistake last game, he also played a hell of a 2 games in Detroit. If Holland wants to keep him (which he does), i think i'd rather go with his opinoin, then yours.

So that instead of Stuart playing solid defense and ocasionally making a mistake, we can have more of Lebda's beautiful rushes where he takes the puck from the red line to just inside the opponent's blueline, coughs it up, and is caught behind the opposing defenseman while the other team gets an odd-man rush. That happens a couple times every game...and Lebda barely plays.

He makes mistakes ALL the time.

Ohhhh if Kenny wants to keep him, then it will be one of the few (and YES there HAVE been a FEW) of his mistakes.

And eva unit zero, Lebda is 1000x better than Stuart and picking his spots to rush up. He doesn't get caught going for the big hit and missing like Stuart nor is he perpetually with his head up in the air after making a stupid play in the corner to loose a puck like Lilja. He does make mistakes but has the speed and hussle to get back and correct then if he does.

Off the top of my head Stuart has a few goals against us from bonehead plays this playoffs, Lebda not.

I guess you missed the nice play Stuart made to keep the puck in yesterday on Hudlers goal. He has been very good in these finals except for his f*** up in game 3. He's has one of the top +/- in the finals, and has been one the ice for the last 8 out of 9 goals scored i believe. That's pretty damn good.

Not to mention he has a 5 game point streak going.

I don't think anyone who watches the entire game rather than just looking at who was on the ice for a goal against can doubt Stuart's importance.

I was skeptical at first, but he's been an awesome fit for the Wings.

I have no idea what is going to happen with this guy, but did anyone else notice how disinterested he seemed to be at times during the post win celebration? I realize he joined the team late, and he probably doesn't feel like he is part of the group. When he spoke, he spoke of what had just happened as if he was speaking of something that happened 5 years ago. Then, when you see pictures of the team celebrating, he seemed to be moping with a look that said "I'm only here because I have to be." Just an observation.
