For eclipsing the 300 PIM mark tonight, reached the 306 mark thus far in only 51 games in fine fashion too! He's a pure throwback...god bless him. Here's to many more minutes in the box!

Carcillo was awesome tonight, theres no doubt that the 1 penalty besides the fighting major he did take in todays game was just because of the target on his back and he drew 2 including one for a goal. He also beat sutherby's ass. On the other hand, late in the game Niedersuck ran a huge hold/interference that led to Selane's goal

Great stuff. Carcillo has quickly become a favorite of mine. He's not a bad hockey player, either.

Just imagine if he hadn't missed so much time to injury this year. Could he have actually cracked 400 PIM's in a season? Hard to say, but it's something fun to think about anyways.

Carcillo saved my hockey pool. I'm basically guaranteed the PIMs category every week. Nice that he chips in points, too.

Yeah tell me about it, when was the last time you saved a roster spot for someone who has 8 goals and 9 assists... lol

Zach Parise may have just cost me a prefect 4 teams in the finals of my fantasy head to head format. -6 on the week, gj. Carcillo held up his end my team has 60 PIM this week, and this is with Lidstrom and Pavel on the team.

i love carcillo, not as much as avery though

Carcillo Avery and Simon will be my checking line. LOL

Faceoff: Avery wins the faceoff, Carcillo drops the gloves and jumps on the nearest player. Avery grabs a dance partner and Simon pulls a patty Roy Jr, charges the goaltender, pronger stomps him and picks up a 50 game suspension That is how my team would get 300PIM in one game.

I wonder how many he could have wound up with if not for the injury? I think he would have hit 400 PIM's.

There used to be at least 10 players every year about a decade ago that hit 300 PIM's, so it's pretty sad that we have to congratulate one guy for doing it nowadays.

I think Carcillo is a beaut, nice to see him have over 300 pims... He would of had over 400 if he played in more games.. Also, the guy can play hockey too when he stays out of the box and doesn't lose his head

6 PIM/game X 82 games = 492 PIM

Crazy

He takes people to the box with him too, so he doesn't leave his team shorthanded as much as it may seem.

Carcillo will make an assault on a few penalty minute records I think. Watch out Tiger Williams.

I doubt it..Gretz is already trying to get the kid to tone it down a bit and stay out of the box because he does have some skill and could be a versatile forward in this league.

"Laraque predicts that the NHLPA will vote to push for the abolition of the instigator rule. The topic was addressed during new NHLPA head Paul Kelly's fall tour, and will come up again at the union's summer meetings. Should Kelly get the go-ahead from his players, he could then approach the league about dropping the instigator.

And Laraque thinks that could end the trend towards players like Carcillo.

"That 's their job -- to draw penalties. Now [without the instigator penalty] you can beat the piss out of the people who do that, and not get two minutes extra," Laraque said. "Most of the guys in league, they hate these agitators.""

HAHAHAHA...That's awesome.

If only the league could abolish fighters like Laraque who try to hug their opponents to death instead of fighting them, and who hate their role as an enforcer. Do that and get rid of the instigator rule, and maybe the NHL will take a step in the right direction for a change.

The league will NEVER abolish the instigator rule, tank that to the bank. The instigator rule is one of the things the fruities like Bettman cant point to to show that although they allow fighting, they have certain rules to somewhat discourage it. Just like the last 5 minute fine/suspension rule, and just like being able to dictate who can and cant play in closing moments by fining coaches and allowing refs to freely throw around unwarranted misconducts at will.
