shadowdagster 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Do any of you think that the Sharks will be upset in the playoffs before we potentially match up with them, or do you think it will be Sharks vs. Wings in the finals?
WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 as good as the sharks are, i really dont see them being that dominant. i can easily see them getting upset by a team like the avs or the flames. the finals will be the wings and the ducks again. i can just feel it. we are gonna play vancover in the first round, the avs in the second round, and the ducks in the third. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 It's amazing that one player (Brian Campbell) is making that much of a difference for the Sharks. Alas, their momentum will probably slow sooner or later.

IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 The Sharks will definitly be in the WCF. No way the ducks make it, I will put money on that. Also Minny looks good. Backstrom is on fire and they have a strong possibility. I am not so sure it is all Campbell making such a difference. I think that is more on timing, yes he is putting up great numbers but if you chose one person to give the credit of the sharks success it would have to be Mister Nabster

AUWingsFan 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see them upset, only for the fact that it seems about time that someone besides the Wings ran into a team that has a streaking goalie and has had to play their rear off to get into the playoffs (although if we finish as the top seed we'll most likely get a team that fits the description above).....but more importantly I believe the unbelievable streak they are on right now has to end and it seems to me like the first round of the playoffs would be a fitting place for it to end. I could care less whether or not they get upset....just as long as our guys keep winning and eventually knock out the sharks if we have to.
juice71285 2 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 For my two quick cents, given how hot San Jose has played since the trade deadline, I could easily see a first round exit for them. It is very hard for any team to keep up that kind of play for the long haul, especially when it comes well before the playoffs and to try and sustain it through them. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Those losers are going nowhere. First round, done, if not, second for sure. The Sharks can ask Detroit: Streaks don't last forever. I don't want to make any predictions, I'm too superstitious to do that, but I don't know if the Sharks are as solid as everyone thinks they are. There could be any number of factors in play. I think that Detroit can beat them if they face them. Detroit has the grit, skill, and clutch play to outlast San Jose. But, likewise, San Jose is good enough to give Detroit a run for their money and upset. It would be a good series, and let's not forget: San Jose has a chip on their shoulder re: the Wings after last years defeat.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Sharks are currently the best team in the league. I think they will go to WCF. If all their players played to their potential, they could go all the way.
Zion 93 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Correct. Their defense is suspect, however, and that (not Nabokov) will be their downfall should they fail to make the WCF. I, too, can't see the Ducks going anywhere, unless Giguere uses a few more flaps here and there...

I'd like to see the Wings play them, but I don't know if Anaheim will make it far enough. Hopefully the Wings do!
miksteri 55 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 Seriously, good thing that Sharks traded Toskala instead of Nabokov because Toskala has been outstanding against Wings, in 10 games against the Wings hes won like 8 or 9 games
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 No one's talking about the Flames. I think if Calgary plays SJ first round, they beat them. That's it. There's my upset. I know the Flames won't score much but like their size and toughness on the back end. I think they can shut the Sharks down. Also, there is arguably more pressure on San Jose to go all the way than any other team in the playoffs this year. I think they fold.
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 The question then is......Is mister Nabster clutch enough in the playoffs to get it done? That is the question, and I am not prepared to answer. I do know he is a very skilled netminder with good numbers for how many games he has played. Seriously, good thing that Sharks traded Toskala instead of Nabokov because Toskala has been outstanding against Wings, in 10 games against the Wings hes won like 8 or 9 games I thought Toskala was undefeated against us. I might be wrong though, either way good point!
