Zion 93 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 this just makes me sad. Me, too. If I hadn't had so much fun watching the open practice, I'd say that I wish I'd saved for playoff tickets instead of going at the end of last month. plus, as of this moment game 1 at the ponda isn't sold out either. This surprises me.

We don't mind at all... it will be awesome... and a nice meet and greet this just makes me sad. but why? its not like they are going to fold up and move?? hell you should be happy you can get tickets to the games... and there isn't a 10 year wait list (like i had to be on) to get season tickets... life should be grand for you... not sad! WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) You guys know that parking is free as long as you get your parking pass validated at one of the casinos right??? I do it all the time. Everytime I got to Wings game I park in the greektown garage. Then, after the game I walk into the casino and get my parking pass validated. When the person sees you're parking pass validated, you don't pay for the parking. Yea, its dishonest and a scam, but so is the Mayor... EDIT: Of course, in order for this to work, you have to be old enough to gamble. Edited April 9, 2008 by WhiteLightning91

VladyIBELIEVE16 257 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Not true... False claim! panda center holds a lot less than the joe Honda 17,174 capacity JLA 20,066 capacity We regularly had 18,000 at games... Not to mention the fans at the Ponda cheer for regular icing... Don't compare the ponda ducks fans to the caliber wings fans we have. At any rate, I remember when it was at LEAST half wings fans.. there's still a lot of wings fans out here...so we'll do our best to fill the stands here but in WINGS GEAR! RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) Just for the record, I checked Ticketmaster a couple of minutes ago and was able to find two seats in the THIRD ROW (!!!) of the upper deck. Yikes. Prepare to see lots of empty seats tomorrow. Far more than last year. Edited April 9, 2008 by RedWingsFanatic
adtthosa 5 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 To be fair, we are playing Nashville. It's not exactly the most exciting first round matchup. But still, it would be nice to see the Joe full for once. I'd love to come down there, if only I didn't have such a crazy work schedule. Hell I won't even be able to watch a good chunk of the games on TV. Such is life, I guess. RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 It's just sort of a weird conundrum to me. Playoff ticket prices aren't THAT much more expensive, yet there will have been more people at a random Thursday night game against Edmonton in January than there will be tomorrow night. It just doesn't quite make sense. I think people are under the assumption that ticket prices are through the roof, and they don't even check. I mean, there are $40 and $50 tickets that aren't drastically higher than regular-season prices and they still aren't selling. So, yeah, it's Nashville. It's the first round. It's a Thursday night. It doesn't really matter. We should be selling out these games.

The $9/$22 seats are $40 the SRO of $27 are $50 they are just about a 100% markup (or double the price) Becuase that random thursday in january against edmonton was also 1/2 of the current price... if you will. Oh Oh Oh and gas was about $.30/gallon cheaper to back then... f*** $3.50 a gallon!! Edited April 9, 2008 by OsGOD

jvxp 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 As of today, Game 1 hasn't been sold out. This is getting ridiculous. I usually go but I lost my job of 17+ years. They shipped it out of the country.......so I'm unemployed with no $. I hope they do sell it out though. Go Wings !!!!
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 I really don't care if we sell out every game. Just leaves me the option of going if I can scrounge up some cash.

Re-check your priorities peeps... You have the option to now attend every game of every round... why the Bitching for being afforded that option? Sergei Fedorov91 24 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 I went to game 2 for the San Jose series last year and it cost me my bank account. Maybe if they get far this year I might buy tickets again.
Chuk 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Wow I really have t make the trip down, here in Edmonton the cheapest playoff ticket you'll ever find is between $90 and $120 and some people pay thousands for tickets, but good luck finding any, and parking is $12-$20. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 After last year, I would think this wouldn't be too big a deal to people in here. Things are more expensive and the economy is struggling. Tickets prices are more expensive in the post-season. People need to save a buck. Who cares if it is only 90% full or not? The team is not a major reason because of it. Just enjoy watching them whether you are at the game live or in front of a television.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 In all actuality are the people (bitching or sad or whatever other silly emotion you have towards a non-sellout) involved in some sort of profit sharing with the Wings organization???? I mean come on... call me selfish, but all i care about is if i WANT A TICKET... I CAN BUY A TICKET... who gives a flying f*(k if its not sell out... that just allows me to get that ticket! johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Can you still do that? like this year? i heard they stopped doing that from someone. we used to eat a greektown then go in get it validated and drive to cobo Why were you driving to Cobo AFTER getting validated? Since there are automatic machines that validate the parking passes I can't see any reason why you couldn't still park for free...as long as you have the willpower to stay away from the gambling. Think about it, even if only 1 out of every 5 people stays in the casino and loses...I mean...gambles money, Greektown is still coming out ahead.

wingnut22 81 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) Free, park at greek town and take the people mover. Ok I lied, it's $1. And right or wrong, if you're not going to games in the first place I think it's pretty lame to be complaining about this stuff anyway. This isn't directed at anyone, just a general statement. I completely agree. I cant go to games all the time for the simple fact I live in Michigan, I dont have a lot of money, I live 3+ hours away, and gas is MORE than most tickets I would want to buy. I dont complain about not selling out because I know, why the seats are empty, People cant afford it. We don't mind at all... it will be awesome... and a nice meet and greet speaking for me, eh?
