Who Else Stays Up Late and Blows Work Off During Playoffs?

Rate this topic

You guys are lucky.

I stay up late, and still wake up at six the next day to go to school, sometimes to take a final, as happened last year when we played those late night games.

I'm with you. The late night games kill me, especially as I have to be to work between 6-7AM during the week. That, coupled with a playoff beard, and I end up looking like pure hell during these months.

Not like anyone actually notices at my job anyway. :P

i have to get up at 6 during the week. no problem with me, those little sacrifices that make the playoffs great.

tonight it starts for me:

flipping between NYR/NJ and the Pens and Sens

after that;

Flames and Sharks.

I wish I was able to get the NYR/NJ game. I'm prefectly happy for the S/Pens and the Sharks/Flames game later though. Can't wait. :D

Shame I'm working tomorrow and I'll miss the most of the game, but oh well, it's just the preds.

Me. I stay up for all the regular season late night games, too. Original member of the LNC, here. I must say I am not sorry that round one vs. Nastyville is just one time zone away, however, and in not western Canada or CA.

During playoffs I usually only get 5-6 hours of sleep when the Wings are playing on the west coast, but i never think twice about staying up and then getting up at 6 to go to school.

everyone can tell when there has been a game the previous night. due to the fact that i get cranky when i don't get enough sleep. but when we lose i skip cranky and go straight to *****.

sometimes i feel bad for my friends, and anyone else who puts up with me...

The late nights are gonna be round 2&3. can't wait.

Yeah what i meant was playoffs in general, not just wings. I love playoff hockey, and when the wings aren't playing, I'm absorbing all the hockey I can get...

i don't have to be to work until 9:30am, so i can usually get away w/staying up for the whole game (unless it's on the stupid west coast and then i just attempt to stay up and fall asleep in front of the tv).

i work saturdays too, but i've already informed my boss that if there's an early game on saturday, i'll be getting someone to cover for me. he's a big big sports fan (though, not hockey so much) and understands how it goes.

ohhh......you meant like actually not going?

well, it depends on what class I have. I mean, I stay up regardless, but I still go to my classes. Actually, when I went to the Def Leppard concert in Greensboro i did skip my classes the next day.......sue me :)

I try to watch or listen most of the our regular season games, but during the playoffs I usually watch every single game that is broadcasted here.

It basically means 0-3 hours of sleep every weekday, but I'm already used to it.

I might sleep a couple of hours after work if/when I'm tired.

I certainly don't blow off work since I like my job, but I try to watch every minute that I can. Of course I fell asleep in OT in the games that we beat the Flames and Sharks in last postseason. :P

I can't just be to work late though because of hockey watching. And most of the time I'm usually up early around 5am to read the morning paper and eat breakfast to have enough time to exercise before work.

I work afternoons so I have to watch the games at work. Everyone knows to bother me as little as possible during playoffs! I do although get really ticked off when we get busy! :P But I work at a veterinary emergency hospital and I can't get mad at the patients. :)
