How do the Wings make sub par goalies look like Vezina winners?

And a sub par goalie is exactly what he is. He looks good tonight becasue alot of luck is going his way. The goals that would normally go in are getting by him. It's not like he's making spectacular saves. People look at 50 shots on goal and are like "wow he's standing on his head". Give me a break.

This is ridiculous. If the wings lose this game, I don't see how they can muster any confidence up to win game 6 and force a 7. There's just no way, not after dominating all game.

The positive is that Nashville hasn't been able to generate much at all 5 on 5.

And I've seen fans like you that are blinded by....well, you get the point. Wake up the smell the coffee. This team of ours is being out played and out coached in this series. It's pretty sad.

On a positive note, we need to give some credit to the Preds for putting up this fight. They seem to want it more than we do.

My only question is why can our board never give kudos to a goalie. The Wings offense has been good, with the exception of a few blown plays but Nashville as had those too. Ellis has just been flat out dominant. He is a very good goaltender and I give him kudos for his team not losing 4-1 already.

He has kept his team in it. He has been really good on stopping the shots on the huge rebounds he has been letting up. He takes away the bottom of the net on the 2nd chances, but it really helps his cause when almost every shot is in his chest. He has kept them in it though. I'll give that to you.

CAROLINA had us freaking into 3 OT in the finals.

Just because Nashville isn't a good team on paper doesn't mean us struggling with them is bad. We can struggle against Nashville and totally whitewash a team like San Jose or Dallas. If it all went according to paper they wouldn't even play.

I want the record to show that I was here, and having faith, and feeling confident going into OT. The only way Nashville scored was on a 6 on 5. They won't be pulling their goaltender in OT, so Wings have the edge.

I was just gonna pose that question. Does this sort of thing happen to other teams. I mean...are other teams just as predictable. I feel like this is the same story over and over. Outshoot the team by a ridiculous margin, only to give up their small lead in the dying minutes of the game, and go on to lose. Is this not our calling card by now?

well...I dont think anyone on here thinks THEY can do a better job than the Wings can. But its pretty apparent at this juncture in the series that the 8th seeded Nashville Predators with a young, inexperienced team backed by a former AHL goalie and headed by a coach with an abysmal playoff record can do better than the Wings can. And that itself warrants the criticism the Wings are getting..

I'm just as frustrated as everyone else, but I also am keeping a level head about. The Wings outplayed them greatly throughout the first 3 periods and if they continue to do what they have been, they should get the next goal. It doesn't mean they are going to, and it certainly doesn't mean I won't be upset if they don't, but its annoying when people play the "the Wings aren't trying" card. I've heard it too many times before.

You're right. They should just not play OT and take the series loss. I mean, with OT and two possible games left, there's no reason to continue playing right?
