WQF Game 5 GDT: Red Wings 2, Predators 1 (OT)

Finally we win a game that we deserve to win, when we outshoot the other team badly.

Well, as I called it, whoever wins game 5 will win game 6, and I'm sticking to my pick. There will be no game 7, especially with the Wings winning streak in closing out games.

Man, Kelly Hrudey is as bad as Pierre. He's already predicted game 7. Every sentance started with "Ellis", even after the game.

Gotta put Ellis in his shell Sunday. We are our own worst enemy, building up his confidence with all these shots. Screen him, and I never thought I'd say this, but, take more shots from the point, and look for the deflection or tip in to get two or three quick goals. (I know, easier said than done).

GO WINGS

So Wings win (while the Tigers win on the same day, that's I belive the first time this year that's happened.) Now Dallas just needs to beat Anaheim tonight, and George St. Pierre needs to win tomorrow, and this will be the triple crown of pure sports awesomeness for me.

Yeah, I'm used to watching games with my friends and bitching at the TV through the whole game. Whether it was the Lions, the Wings or the Tigers....they each have had their share of real bad games. I'm wondering if that's a sign of a Detroit team fan or what? The people down here in Louisiana find it pretty annoying I guess.

Don't take this the wrong way, but when it comes to the Lions, I can understand that. I feel bad for them and the fact Millen continues to run that team into the ground. The fans of Detroit don't deserve that. Atleast you have the Pistons and the Wings who have won championships more recently than any team in WI. Packers Superbowl was in 97.

Cheers!

That's super harsh coming from someone who registered a few months before me.

Right, but I've soared to greatness since then.

Also, I didn't mean to be harsh, it's just that you started it. Why are people here always bashing and attacking each other? I never do that unless someone does it to me first. I've heard more FU's here tonight directed from one poster to another than I ever have before. Grow up people. You blame some of us for being pessimistic, yet keep saying FU to every other poster who happens to share that feeling.

I swear, the hypocrisy here is just ridiculous sometimes.

Way to go Franzenstien. Man has that guy really stepped up his game this year. The Mule is the man. Thanks god the Wings won this game and early into the Overtime. My stress level couldn't have taken much more. I think I gained a hell of alot of grey hairs after this one. LETS GO RED WINGS!!!

Kelly Hrudey is too stupid to know about the Wings winning streak in closing out series.

Here's to Ozzie, and Franzen. Ozzie shut them down, and our D was awesome. What an awesome goal by Franzen. Really pleased with this effort. This OT win just took the wind out of their sails. I can't wait for Sunday. I hope nothing in our effort changes on Sunday. We were all over them tonight. Good job guys. What an exciting game!

I just have to say this. What the hell is going on with Hank? He's lost a step in the playoffs. We don't need that s***! He protects the puck well as usual and is moving okay but he can't hit tape, he can't take a pass cleanly and he can't finish!!

Hank we NEED you. This is the ******* playoffs.

A BIG WIN :siren:

People here take a lot of pride in things like the Wings so heavily outshooting opposing teams.

But in reality, if it takes you on average 25-30 shots to score a goal in the NHL, then you aren't exactly being as dominant as the paper might make it appear.

No Legwand, No Arnott. I'm glad we won and that it was over quick. But honestly, this game should have been over before it even got started. A game like this, we should've put a 5 spot on them and squashed any last remnants of hope they might have had.

I suppose winning in OT is still demoralizing for the other team but I really was shocked by our performance tonight. Not what I expected at all. And no, 50+ shots does not impress me in the slightest.

Wooooooooooooooo!!!!

Alright my thoughts on the game:

I know some of you are saying oh here we go again, but I'm gonna chalk up our not scoring more than 1 goal in regulation today as more luck then anything. The flow of the game was awfully familiar but in our past 1st round losses we had way fewer quality scoring chances than we've had this series. Zetterberg and Cleary have been snakebit but these are two of the hardest working wings so I'm not too worried.

Me-thinks this team has more confidence and simply plays harder for Ozzie, and it was great to be that the fans showed him some love.

Assuming the Wings learned something from Game 3 (good GOD I hope they learned from that game) I fully expect them to finish the series on Sunday

When Franzen scored...I jumped up from my couch and my hand ran into the (moving) ceiling fan, I collapsed to the ground and continued to cheer.

I love my Wings. :D

Now that's funny! Are you okay?
