I hate Ellis

there's nothing wrong with Ellis and no reason to hate him. In fact, I am shocked that half of this forum isn't clamoring for Kenny to sign him.

The Wings could go a long way toward making him look human, if they would finish their chances and not just fling rubber at the net. Not Ellis' problem they make him look so good. The Wing can make any goalie look good. Sometimes, they even make their own goalies look good.

Sure it's easy when a goalie sees more than half of them all the way. I think this falls under that one topic about Hot goalie. Are the wings making him this hot because we shoot from everywhere?

He did play well, but most of the shots hit him, rather than him "saving" them. As mentioned above, if the Wings had finished many of the plays that were handed to them, they would have won 6-1 or so.

exactly.

Seriously, Ellis makes Curtis "Captain Rubberpads" Joseph look like a Dyson vacuum cleaner when it comes to allowing rebounds. If not for his insane quickness in being ready for the second and third chances, they would have given up at least five more goals last game. I do NOT want to see this guy on the Wings.... ever. Our D is NOT phenomenal when it comes to clearing loose pucks from around the net, as evidenced by our plan the last few years. We need to stop the shot before it's fired or have the goalie suck it in with no rebound. Scrambles around our net scare the poop out of me. And my DRW colostomy bad is in the shop right now, so I'd prefer not to have to deal with the poop flying out of me. :)

Regs,

Jeff

Playoff goales are only as amazing as our shooters make them... We would make Mason look the exact same way... It the Red Wings Playoffs... you get used to it year after year.

Lets look at the past history of the Wings as goalie "Kingmakers". In '95, it was "who the f**k was Martin Brodeuer", until he stoned what had been the most outstanding offensive club since Gretzky's Oilers. In '03, it was "who the f**k is Sebastian Giguere?", until he swept the Wings out of the playoffs with a series of 1-0 and 2-1 wins...on their way to a finals appearance. Kiprusoff followed in '04. Where was his playoff sucess before Detroit??? Hopefully Ellis' "legend" won't be created in the next 48 hours. If so, we can create a Mt. Rushmore of goaltenders who have done the most to destroy what would have been an amazing 13 year dynasty with potentially 7 hoistings of Lord Stanleys Cup.

Oh yeah...Arturs Irbe in '94...SCREW HIM TOO!!!!

don't people realize every goalie we face looks amazing? the wings had tons of chances, they just didn't get it done. ellis played well, but we helped him out a whole hell of a lot. i'm extremely surprised that some people don't pick up on this. if you've watched any wings games the last five years, especially in the playoffs, you'd realize we have an amazing knack at making opposing goalies look like gods. most of our 53 shots were harmless, and of the chances we had, we couldn't finish. that's about par for the course for the wings in the post season.
